Abstract: An absorbent article comprises an absorption body (104) having an absorption layer (124) which is shaped by a material on both sides of two cut edges (126, 127) being moved at right angles to a slit and being locked in the moved position. The slit absorption layer is led over a concave or a convex surface, where the cut edges are made to move in a direction at right angles to the slit.
