Abstract: An elasticized web has a gatherable substrate and a multi-strand elastic yarn affixed to the gatherable substrate at a plurality of fixation locations. So that the yarn can be affixed to the substrate without the use of an adhesive, the yarn is subjected to forces to create partial delamination of the yarn at the fixation locations and a portion of the gatherable substrate is caused to pass between the thus delaminated strands of the multi-strand elastic yarn. The elasticized web of the present invention is particularly suitable for use in disposable absorbent articles.

Abstract: Se describe un tejido elastizado (10) que tiene un substrato contráctil (12) y un hilo elástico de múltiples fibras (14) fijado a dicho sustrato contráctil en una pluralidad de puntos de fijación (16). Con la finalidad que el hilo pueda ser fijado al substrato sin el uso de adhesivo, el hilo es sometido a fuerzas para crear una deslaminación parcial del hilo en los puntos de fijación y una porción del substrato contráctil se hace pasar entre fibras deslaminadas del hilo elástico de múltiples fibras. El tejido elastizado de la presente es particularmente adecuado para ser usado en artículos absorbentes desechables.
