Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the air from coming in an ink supply part and/or an ink supply reception part when an ink tank is set to an ink jet head. SOLUTION: In a method for setting the ink tank 7 for supplying ink to the ink jet head 6 which prints by discharging the ink towards a recording medium such as a recording paper 4 from many formed nozzle holes; an ink 20 present at a leading opening 16a of an ink supply passage 16 formed to the ink supply part 15 set to the ink tank for supplying ink to the ink jet head is brought into a state to project from the opening, and an ink 21 present at a leading opening 19a of an ink supply reception passage 19 set to the ink supply reception part 17 for receiving the supply of ink from the ink tank of the ink jet head is brought into a state to project from the opening. The ink projecting from the leading opening of the ink supply passage and the ink projecting from the leading opening of the ink supply reception part are brought to be close to each other and united. Thereafter, the ink supply is set to the ink supply reception part.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer and a printer head especially applicable to an ink jet line printer in order to prevent deterioration in the quality of print results due to variation of head chips. SOLUTION: When viewed from the feeding direction of a print object, nozzles 31 assigned to head chips 25 are arranged to overlap partially between adjacent head chips 25. Nozzles for a plurality of chips are formed in one nozzle plate on which the head chips are arranged to produce a printer head.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the representation of a gradation, especially on a low concentration side by metering a medium to be metered with the help of a heating element when the medium to be metered is mixed with a discharge medium and the mixture is jetted. SOLUTION: A heat-generating element 11 which consists of a resistor 25 with both ends to which electrodes 23a, 23b are connected, on a heat accumulation layer 21 and a protecting coating 24 formed on the resistor 25 and generates heat through energization to the resistor 25, is installed in a second pressure chamber 9 filled with a metered medium in such a manner that the protecting coating 24 comes into contact with the metered medium in the pressure chamber 9. The heat-generating element 11 has an in-plane temperature distribution on the surface of the element at the time of heat generation. In this heating element 11, the temperature distribution should preferably be formed in the in-plane direction at the time of heat generation by changing the heat generating value of the resistor 25, at its energization, in the in-plane direction. In addition, the thickness of the protecting coating 24 is changed in the in-plane direction of the heating element 11. Alternatively, the thickness of the heat accumulation layer 21 may be changed in the in-plane direction of the heating element 11, so that the in-plane temperature distribution at the time of heat generation is formed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a diluting liq. for ink jet recording which can maintain wetting and moisture retention of an ink in the vicinity of a nozzle to prevent clogging of the nozzle, can improve the fixation of the ink onto a recording medium and realizes highly stable and reliable ink jet recording by mixing a diluting liq. contg. isoprene glycol with an ink. SOLUTION: An ink contained in an ink vessel 2 is filled into an ink reservoir 22, an ink feed port 111, and an ink flow passage 121 and creates a meniscus Mi at the front end of the ink flow passage 121. A diluting liq., contg. 1 to 50wt.% isoprene glycol, contained in a vessel 3 is filled into a diluting liq. reservoir 32 and a diluting liq. feed port 112 and creates a meniscus Md. An ink drive section 23 is actuated to create an ink droplet in the front end of the meniscus Mi in the diluting liq. feed port 112, and the ink droplet is immediately mixed with the diluting liq. to form a diluted ink. A diluting liq. drive section 33 is actuated to move the diluted ink formed at the diluting liq. feed port 112 toward a nozzle 113 and ejects the diluted ink through the nozzle. The ejected diluted ink is deposited as a spherically ejected ink 6 onto a recording medium.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability, particularly light-decoding fastness of an image, by incorporating a cyanoacrylate compound of a structure represented by a specified formula in a dye receptive layer in a material to be recorded with the dye receptive layer formed on a substrate. SOLUTION: In a material to be recorded with a dye receptive layer formed on a substrate, a cyanoacrylate compound of a structure represented at least by a formula in a dye receptive layer is contained. In the formula, R1 represents CN and R2 represents a straight chain or branched alkyl. As the substrate, one used generally as the substrate for a photographic paper is used, for example, papers such as an ordinary paper and a synthetic paper, or plastic films like polyethylene terephthalate and others, or papers coated with plastic are used. It is preferable to incorporate resin in the dye receptive layer.
