Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of drive sources to a minimum possible to be required to contrive a lower production cost and save a power demand, by using a drive force for a drive force change-over mechanism also as the drive force of a first drive source in combination. CONSTITUTION:By changing over a drive force change-over mechanism 130 which is driven by a DC motor 104 as a first drive source, either a platen 14 or a paper feed roller 10 rotates or revolves by the drive of a stepping motor 92 as a second drive source, and a paper discharge roller 12 is driven invariably by the drive of the stepping motor 92. On the other hand, by the drive of the DC motor 104 the following actions are conducted: the up/down of a paper supply lever 21; the rising and retracting of a paper-discharge push claw 38; the reciprocating movement of a head travel mechanism 66; the ON/OFF of a brake arm 182 braking a limiter gear on a supply reel mount; the rotation of an eject stopper 192; and the aforesaid change-over of the paper feed roller 10 and the platen 14. In this manner, since one motor is used for a large number of kinds of drive, the number of motors can be reduced so as to lower a cost and save a power demand to a large extent.
