Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably suck an object to be sucked even if the object is slightly inclined. SOLUTION: A panel-sucking device is provided with a suction surface 1 that is formed flatly corresponding to a plate-shaped object to be sucked, a suction hole 3 that is provided on the suction surface 1, and a suction pad 2 that is provided so that it projects from the suction surface 1 toward the side of the object to be sucked separately from the suction hole 3, has an opening 2a at the side of the object to be sucked by an elastic member, and is formed in a hollow conical shape. Further, the panel-sucking device is also provided with a suction means such as a suction pump and a switching valve for reducing the pressure of the space in the suction hole 1 after reducing the pressure in the space in the suction pad 2 when the object to be sucked is to be sucked.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a head cleaning at a proper timing using system log information, to reduce the error rate and to improve the durability of a head by updating and recording the attribute information of a cassette even though it is in a write protect mode. SOLUTION: When it is in a write protect mode, the write protect against a system log area is released by a software process, a reading of a log area is conducted and a transition is made to a tape reproducing mode. When a data read mode is completed, the number of loadings is updated, the updating of the system log data within a corresponding partition is automatically conducted and a release flag is set when a rewrite process is completed. By partially releasing the write protect mode employing software, the updating of the system log data is executed, the data, which accurately reflect the utilization condition of a cassette, are obtained and the head cleaning timing corresponding to the data is appropriately determined.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To evade the occurrence of tape damage, etc., by deciding an abnormality in the change of loss torque with the passage of time. CONSTITUTION:A change-over switch 33 is connected to (a) side, and a reel motor 3 is rotated at constant rotating speed in a state that no tape is loaded. A current MIs flowing through the motor 3 can be detected by a control signal SCs from a speed servo circuit 23. The current MIs is in proportion to the loss torque MTs, and since the aging change of the loss torque MTs can recognized by comparing with a current MIsr detected similarly on a manufacturing line, the abnormality in the loss torque MTs can be decided from the current MIs. When the current MIs exceeds a prescribed range, it is decided that the abnormality occurs in the loss torque MTs. When the abnormality is decided, the constant of an approximate equation which computes a current I is set agains, or a VTR is controlled so as to go down when tape tension F is controlled so as to be kept constant by connecting the change-over switch 33 to (b) side and making the current I in accordance with the a tape winding diameter R flow on the motor 3 by a current servo circuit 32.
