    Abstract: The ribbon cartridge (1) comprises a substantially cylindrical cartridge body comprised of upper and lower casing halves (20,10). A ribbon supply reel (30) is rotatably housed in the cartridge body and has an ink ribbon (40) wound therearound. A pull sheet (41) is affixed to a leading edge of the ink ribbon, and includes an opening (41a) allowing easy chucking of the ribbon cartridge in a printer. Also provided on the pull sheet are cut-out portions (41b) so arranged as to prevent creasing of the ink ribbon during use. When the ink ribbon has been completely used, the used ribbon is retracted back into the cartridge for easy removal from the printer.

    Abstract: An ink sheet (3) is wound around rollers (6), and a recording sheet (4) is placed with a space (d) between the ink sheet (3) and the recording sheet (4) and is advanced. The thickness of the space (d) is a value in the range of 1 to 100 mu m. The ink sheet (3) is irradiated with a laser beam (L) emitted by a laser (5) to transfer the dye contained in a dye layer formed on the ink sheet (3) from the ink sheet (3) to the recording sheet (4) for printing. The dye layer of the ink sheet (3) is replenished with the dye (30, 30A) heated and fused by a heater (9) by a dye supply unit (7) at a position other than a position where the ink sheet (3) is irradiated with the laser beam (L). Since the ink sheet and the recording sheet are held with the space (d) having a thickness in the range of 1 to 100 mu m, the dye once transferred to the recording sheet is not transferred from the rcording sheet to the ink sheet, so that a clear picture having a comparatively high density can be printed. Since the dye layer of the ink sheet is replenished with the dye, the ink sheet can be repeatedly used, so that no waste is produced.

CONSTITUTION: In the dye gasification part 17 of a printer head 70, a cluster of small columns 80 are part of a gasification structure 101 at a dye storing part 87 recessed on an insulating plate 56. In addition, a liquid checking band 55 is provided around the cluster of small pillars 80, and a spacer 52 is arranged in a band fashion between the gasification structure 101 and a printing sheet 50. Further, a heating element 65 is provided on the lower surface of the small pillar and an electrode is provided on both sides of the heating element 65. Besides, an introducing path 53 is formed branching out of a common dye passage 27 in a first material layer 62 and a second material layer 51, and is opened on the side of the dye storing part 67. A liquefied dye 22 is continuously guided into the dye storing part 87 through the dye introducing path 53 and then is supplied to the gasification structure 101. The first material layer 62 is junctioned and fixed to a base material 63 with the dye passage 27.

CONSTITUTION: A printer head is prepd. by carrying a head chip 201 on a sub- chassis 264 and a dye feeding path 84 is formed in the sub-chassis 264 and a dye is introduced into each vaporization part 77 of the head chip 201 through a dye introducing hole 84' branched from the dye feeding path 84. A dye storing part is recessedly arranged on a heat insulating plate on which a group of micro-cylindrical bodies made by microprocessing of the heat insulating plate are provided as a part of a vaporization structural body and a heating body is provided on the underside of the group of micro-cylindrical bodies. In this case, a heat insulating layer 205 is applied on the sub-chassis 264 and a flexible print circuit 203 is laminated thereon through a copper film 204 and a control unit IC202 is carried thereon.
