Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit and receive a control signal by actualizing the functions of a pointing device and a controlled variable input device only by operating one roller. SOLUTION: A pulse signal generated by the rotation of the roller of a roller part 41 is detected by a detecting circuit 43 to generate a signal indicating the direction and quantity of the rotation; and a switch 42 is turned on by the depression of the roller and a detecting circuit 44 generates a signal corresponding to the ON operation, so that those signals are supplied to a CPU 23. The CPU 23 and a display control circuit 25 displays a menu screen, cursor information, etc., on a CRT tube screen. The movement of a cursor and the input of a controlled variable are performed by the rotation of the roller. With the switch ON, the menu screen is switched and the execution, etc., of a process selected in the menu is instructed. The control signal can be transmitted from a transmitting circuit 30 and a return signal can be reflected on a tube surface display.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability by actualizing the functions of a pointing device and a controlled variable input device only by operating one roller. SOLUTION: An input operation part is composed of a roller part 41 and a switch 42 and a pulse signal is generated by the rotation of the roller of the roller part 41. This pulse signal is detected by a detecting circuit 43 to generate a signal indicating the rotating direction and rotational quantity; when the roller is pressed, the switch 42 is turned on and a detecting circuit 44 generates and supplies a signal corresponding to the ON operation to a CPU 23. The CPU 23, a display control circuit 25, and a superimposing device 26 receive the detection signal and displays a menu screen, cursor information, etc., on the tube surface of a CRT. Thus the movement of a cursor and the input of a controlled variable are performed by operating the roller. The display screen is switched and the execution, etc., of a process selected in the menu is instructed by turning on the switch.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the operability of the remote controlling commander by processing a signal corresponding to a roller rotating angle by an UP/DOWN counter, and when a count value is not an initial value, outputting a transmission command signal, executing down counting or the like in each sending of a remote control signal, repeating said operation until arrival at a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A pulse signal corresponding to the roller rotational angle of a roller part 1 is supplied through a detecting circuit 3 and a switch 61 and the UP/DOWN counter 62 executes up counting within a range for turning off the switch 61 by a comparator 63 and an FF 65 at the time of arrival at a required maximum value. At the time of deciding that the count value is not an initial value such as '0', a comparator 64 outputs a sending command signal and a remote control signal set up in a remote control code encoder 9 is outputted through a sending circuit 17. The circuit 17 generates a control output SE1 in each output of the remote control signal, the counter 62 executes down counting and similar repeat is continued until the count value becomes '0'. Thus, the remote control signal is continuously and automatically outputted and the operability can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the operability of the control system by regulating the moving variable of a cursor in stages in accordance with the revolution of an input device per unit time. CONSTITUTION:The detection pulses SA, SB of two phases are generated in accordance with the rotation of roller 1a and a detection circuit 3 detects a rotational direction from the phase relation of the detected pulses and outputs control signals SUP, SDW. A counter 7 counts up the number of detection pulses SA, a latch 8 latches a count value (n) at the supplying timing of a pulse PT and a count number deciding circuit 18 converts the output of the latch 8 to a prescribed code signal DT for regulating the moving variable of the cursor and supplies the code signal DT to a remote control code encoder 5. The moving variable of the cursor displayed on a display means is switched in stages in accordance with the rotational frequency of the roller per unit time to display the cursor. Thus, the operability of the control system can be improved.

This invention is applicable to the television receiver.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive circuit with a reduced drive power for a light emitting diode. SOLUTION: A drive control signal SD outputted from a system controller 10 is fed to a base of a transistor (TR) TR, and when the TR is conductive, a coil L stores an electromagnetic energy, and when the TR is turned off next, a counter electromotive force of the coil L lights up the light emission diodes 1a, 1b. When the counter electromotive force reaches a threshold voltage of the light emission diodes or below, the coil L and a capacitor C are resonated to control the TR so as to be turned on when a collector level of the TR is close to a zero level. Since a current limit resistor to limit the drive current of the light emission diodes is omitted and a switching loss of the TR is reduced, a remote controller with saved power can be configured.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information input device where battery consumption is supressed and operability is enahnced. SOLUTION: A detection circuit 3 generates code signals P1, P2 corresponding to a rotation direction and a rotation amount of a roller 1a. Furthermore, a detection circuit 4 generates a code signal P3 when the roller 1a is pushed in. A timer circuit 6 gives a signal that is at a high level for a prescribed time to switches 7, 8 by using a leading edge of the code signal P3 as a trigger signal. The switches 7, 8 are closed when the signal is at a high level, the detection circuits 3, 4 and an encoder circuit 9 are connected and a remote control signal is transmitted. When no code signal is supplied from the detection circuits 3, 4 and the prescribed time elapses, the signal from the timer circuit 6 goes to a low level, the switches 7, 8 are open and the device is restored to a standby state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent dissidence between a display video image and a channel display by displaying a reception signal of a built-in tuner when a video signal generated based on a reception signal of an external tuner is received. CONSTITUTION:When a decoder fixed mode is set, terminals 24B, 24C are connected, and a detection signal and a bit stream signal from a BS tuner built in a VTR 4 are fed to an input 6B of a BS decoder 6 via a terminal 4A. A video signal obtained by descrambling the signals is fed to a switch 26 via a terminal 6A. However, since a controller 30 connects terminals 26A, 26C, not a video signal based on the signal of the built-in tuner of the VTR from the BS decoder 6 but a video signal being a reception signal of a BS tuner 22 built in a television receiver 2 is outputted from the switch 26 to a CRT 28. Thus, the dissidence between the video image displayed on the CRT 28 and channel indication is not caused.
