    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the manufacture yield by securing adhesive strength between a 1st substrate where discharge electrodes are formed and a dielectric thin plate and a 2nd substrate where electrodes are formed and the dielectric thin plate. SOLUTION: A plasma cell 2 is formed by arranging the dielectric thin plate 3 at a specific interval on the 1st substrate 8 where anode electrodes 9A and cathode electrodes 9K as discharging electrodes are formed, the 2nd substrate 4 where data electrodes 5 crossing the discharge electrodes almost at right angles are formed on the opposite surface is put over the dielectric thin plate 3 across a liquid crystal layer 7, and a 1st seal part 14 is formed along the outer peripheral edges of the opposite parts of the 1st substrate 8 and 2nd substrate 4; and outside edges 3a and 3b of the dielectric thin plate 3 is put behind inside edges 14a and 14b of the 1st seal part 1.4, and the part between the dielectric thin plate 3 and 1st substrate 8 and the part between the dielectric thin plate 3 and 2nd substrate 4 are sealed with a fret sealant 11 and a liquid crystal sealant 6 respectively.

CONSTITUTION: Partitions 5 are partly formed on the dielectric sheet 4 and also, the partitions 5 are partly formed on plasma substrate glass 31 in the process for producing the plasma address display device formed by disposing the plasma substrate glass 31 constituting plasma cells 3 and the dielectric sheet 4 opposite to each other via the many partitions 5 formed in juxtaposition. These dielectric sheet 4 and plasma substrate glass 31 are so joined that partitions 6 are completed by mating the parts of the partitions 5 formed thereon with each other.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent the crack of a dielectric sheet and to shorten the time for evacuating the inside of a hermetically sealed chamber to vacuum, etc., by using plural columnar independent ribs disposed in ineffective regions as struts for the dielectric sheet and forming the spacings thereof as flow passages for gas. CONSTITUTION: Effective pixel regions EA are constituted in the parts of display electrodes 32 not covered with cover glass 39 of a plasma address display device 1 formed by joining plasma substrate glass and thin sheet glass which is the dielectric sheet by square annular frit seals 35. The peripheral parts exclusive of the effective pixel regions EA in the hermetic sealing chamber 36 are formed as the ineffective regions IV which do not affect screen display. The many columnar independent ribs 40 in these ineffective regions are arranged apart prescribed intervals in the state of holding the ribs between the dielectric sheet and the plasma substrate glass. The spacings between the independent ribs 40 constitute the flow passages for the gas. Rapid suction is made possible when the inside of the hermetic sealing chamber 36 is evacuated to vacuum from a vent hole 37. Diffusion time is made shorter as well in a mercury expansion stage after gas sealing.

    SOLUTION: The plasma address display device has a flat panel structure formed by superposing a plasma cell 2 having discharging channels X arranged in the direction of line, and a display cell 1 having signal electrodes Y arranged in the direction of row, and matrix-shaped pixels are formed at the part where respective discharging channels X and the signal channels Y are crossing. Respective discharging channels X comprises an anode electrode A and a cathode electrode K, and separated from the adjacent discharging channels X at both sides by a pair of separation walls 7. The anode electrode A is arranged at the lower part of the separation wall 7, and has such an electrode structure that the front surface is covered and the side surfaces are exposed. The cathode electrode K is composed of at least two pieces of thin metal wires KL which are parallel with each other, and arranged near to the exposed side surface of the anode electrode A located at both sides of the cathode electrode.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of degassing processing of a dielectric layer formed for an AC drive type plasma address display device. SOLUTION: The plasma address display device has a layered structure in which a display cell D and a plasma cell P provided with rows of discharge channels 4 on a transparent substrate 1 are mutually layered. The plasma cell is line-at-a-time scanned by exciting plasma discharge by sequentially applying a selection pulse across a pair of discharge electrodes 6 allotted to each discharge channel 4 and coated with the transparent dielectric layer 5, while an image is displayed by applying an image signal to each signal electrode 11 of the display cell D in synchronization with the line-at-a-time scanning. The manufacture of this device comprises an electrode process for forming the discharge electrodes 6 on the transparent substrate 1, a coating process for coating the discharge electrodes 6 with a paste containing a transparent dielectric material layered thereon, and a baking process for forming the transparent dielectric layer 5 on the discharge electrodes 6 by baking the applied paste in a vacuum atmosphere. Vacuum baking accelerates degassing of the dielectric layer.

SOLUTION: A glass washing apparatus is basically provided with a washing tank 1 in which a washing liq. is filled and a holding tool for holding a thin sheet glass 2 with a thickness of at most 0.1mm and immersing it into the washing tank 1. When a rocking mechanism is fitted on this, washing is performed by rocking the thin sheet glass 2 only in the plane direction (X and Y) without rocking it in the thickness direction (Z) in the washing tank 1. In addition, when a stirring mechanism is fitted, washing is performed by making the washing liq. flow only in the direction (X and Y) being parallel to the plane without generating substantially a flow component in the vertical direction (Z) to the plane (X and Y) of the thin sheet glass.
