    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform always accurate fingerprint collation without being affected by a personal error due to an unclear fingerprint, a finger pressure in reading a fingerprint and the drying condition of a finger. SOLUTION: When image input means reads the fingerprint and outputs an image signal for the fingerprint, an A/D converter digitizes the image signal and outputs variable density image data for the fingerprint. First image binarizing means 24 detects a position where the gray level image data 22A is at the maximum value and forms binarized image data which is '1' near the position and '0' at the other positions. On the other hand, second image binarizing means 26 detects a position where the variable gray level image data is at the minimum value and forms second binarized image data 34 which is '0' near the position and '1' at the other positions. Fingerprint determining means 38 determines whether the fingerprint is a specified fingerprint or not using the first and second binarized data 32, 34.

That is, the device 1 detects pulsations of a luminance level in a fingerprint image by a fingerprint data inputting part 4 and outputs the data DM of a pulsation detection result to the circuit 3 at the time of registering fingerprint data D1 and also collating it. The circuit 3 discriminates a data DM that is of a prescribed level or more, detects a state in which a finger is stably and also surely placed on a prescribed finger mounted position, waits for the state detection, fetches the fingerprint data D1 to an inspection fingerprint memory 6 and processes it.

The part 7 successively obtains comparing results between the linear picture of data D1 and a picture by data D2 overlapping at each displacing position to successively detect coincidence between each linear picture of data D1 and the picture of data D2. In addition, the distribution of coincidence is detected. In addition, the distribution of coincidence is corrected and the collating ratio is calculated between fingerprint pictures by data D1 and D2 from this corrected result to judge coincidence/noncoincidence by this collating ratio.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reproduce at high speed by equipping an optical system for reproducing, which includes an area image sensor, to an optical card, for which plural recording units to be composed of linear track strings are recorded in a matrix shape. CONSTITUTION:To an optical card 1, a digital signal is recorded as the track string and the plural recording units (blocks) of the track strings in a prescribed number are recorded in a matrix shape. A reproducing light from a light emitting diode 6 as a light source for reproducing covers the whole range of one block and the light is image-formed through a magnifying lens to an area image sensor 11 of a CCD. A signal from the sensor 11 is digitized and written to a memory. The reproducing data of the respective track strings are read from the memory and the part of a silent signal is detected. Then, the maximum value of a signal between the respective silent signal parts is calculated and held to a line memory for one track string. The reproducing data are successively read from this line memory. Then, the high speed reproducing can be executed by the area image sensor.
