    Abstract: Herein described is a control device of a device for the correction of the power factor in forced switching power supplies; said device for the correction of the power factor comprises a converter and said control device is coupled to the converter to obtain from an alternating input line voltage a regulated output voltage. The control device comprises generating means associated to a capacitor for generating a signal representative of the root-mean-square value of the alternating line voltage; the generating means are associated to means for discharging said capacitor. The control device comprises further means for discharging the capacitor suitable for discharging said capacitor when the signal representative of the root-mean-square value of the alternating line voltage goes below a given value.

    Abstract: The present invention refers to the switching power supply and particularly to the integrated circuits used for the control of such power supplies. It refers more particularly to a control circuit of the minimum working voltage of the integrated control circuits of such power supplies. In one embodiment the control circuit of the minimum working voltage of the integrated control circuit of a switching power supply having a supply voltage (Vcc); characterized in that said minimum working voltage can assume a first voltage value (Vstop1) and a second voltage value (Vstop2); said first voltage value (Vstop1) is higher than said second voltage value (Vstop2); said minimum working voltage switches from said first voltage value (Vstop1) to said second voltage value (Vstop2) in case of low or null load of said switching power supply; said minimum working voltage switches from said second voltage value (Vstop2) to said first voltage value (Vstop1) if the load is higher than a prefixed load of said switching power supply and at the same time said supply voltage (Vcc) is higher than said first voltage value (Vstop1).

    Abstract: A circuit for regulating the time of charging of the output node of an amplifier at start up, commonly comprising an external soft-start capacitor charged by a current delivered by a pull-up transistor (QG19) of a push-pull output stage of the amplifier, through a decoupling diode (QG23) that is functionally connected between the output node of the amplifier and an armature of the external soft-start capacitor, is provided with a current mirror feed back circuit capable of mirroring a current function of the charge current of the external soft-start capacitor on the driving node of the pull-up transistor (QG19) of the output stage of the amplifier. The regulating circuit permits to use an external capacitance of extremely small size and upon the reaching of a fully charged condition by the external capacitor, the control circuit self-isolates and does not influence in any way the normal operation of the amplifier.

    Abstract: The present invention describes is a device for power factor correction in forced switching power supply unit, comprising a converter (20) and a control device (100) coupled with the converter (20) so as to obtain from an input alternating mains voltage (Vin) a direct regulated voltage (Vout) on the output terminal. The converter (20) comprises a power transistor (M) and the control device (100) comprises an error amplifier (3) having in input on the inverting terminal a first signal (Vr) proportional to the regulated voltage (Vout) and on the non-inverting terminal a reference voltage (Vref), a drive circuit (4-7, 10) of the power transistor (M) coupled with the output terminal of the error amplifier (3). The control device (100) comprises means (42, Cff, 101, Rt, 102) suitable for generating a current signal (It) representative of the effective input voltage; said current signal (It) is in input on the inverting terminal of said error amplifier (3) to vary said regulated voltage (Vout) in reply to variations of the effective input voltage.
