    Abstract: Process for forming multi-component oxide catalysts. According to the invention the key catalytic phase of the catalyst is preformed and the elements of the host-catalyst phase are added together or separately. The key catalytic phase contains a molybdate or a tungstate of Bi, Te, Sb, Sn Cu or mixtures thereof. A representative catalyst is 50% [Bi2Mo3O12] 1/2 [K0.1Ni2.5Co4.5Fe3P0.5Mo10.5 Ox] + 50% SiO2 In the production of this catalyst a preformed bismuth molybdate slurry is added to a host-catalyst slurry. The mixture was then dried, calcined, ground and calcined once again.

    Abstract: 1523141 Oxidation catalyst STANDARD OIL CO 15 July 1975 [22 July 1974 5 Aug 1974] 29589/75 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] An oxidation catalyst used for the preparation of unsaturated aldehydes (see Division C2) formula wherein X is Ce, Th, Pr, Nb, Ge, Y, Zr, Ru, Ga, In, Cu, La, Ta, Sb or mixtures thereof; A is alkali metal or Tl or mixture thereof; D is Ni, Co, Mg, Mn, Zn, Cd, Ca, Sr or mixture thereof, except that D is not Mn unless X is Sb; E is P; As, B, S, Al or mixture thereof; a is greater than O but less than S; b and d are 0-4 except that b is not zero if X is Ga, In, La, Nb, Ge or Ta; c, f and g are 0.1-12; and X is a positive number. The catalyst may be supported, e.g. on alumina, silica, titania, zirconia or silicon carbide. The Examples relate to silicasupported catalysts formed by mixing a silica sol with solutions of compounds of the elements to be present, evaporating and calcining.
