    Abstract: A main station (c) is connected by a single optical fibre (1) to a secondary station (A). A transmission circuit (3) and a reception circuit (4) are connected to a duplexer (2) at the main station to permit transmission and reception of signals along the optical fibre. The luminous signals are transmitted as pulses from a pulse generator and they travel along the optical fibre to a modulator (5) in the secondary station. This amplitude modulates the signal and reflects and returns it to the duplexer. An acoustic signal (S1) at the secondary station is transmitted through the modulator. These acoustic signals pass into the receiver circuit where they are converted into electrical signals for demodulation to form an acoustic output signal (So). The pulse repetition frequency is filtered out by the user equipment.

    Abstract: 1490595 Television THOMSON-CSF 8 Aug 1975 [9 Aug 1974] 33248/75 Heading H4F A coding/decoding system for use in image recording apparatus effects upon coding bandbandwidth reduction. Video signal E, Fig. 1, is separated into adjacent frequency bands of equal width by filters 1 and 2. The higher band of signals emanating from filter 2 is transposed, by a single side band (SSB) modulator 4 into the frequency range of the lower band emanating from filter 1. A switch 7, actuated at the frame rate, selects the translated high band portion and the low band portion alternately. Bursts of the reference oscillation employed by SSB modulator 4 are added to the translated high band portion, in the horizontal blanking intervals, at 6 prior to recording of the resultant signal termed "the alternate signal". On playback the alternate signal A, Fig. 2, and this signal delayed, A 1 , are applied to a double switch 20 having two outputs. The switches are controlled by a circuit under the influence of the bursts of reference oscillations extracted by filters 25, 26 so as to provide on one output the low band portion and on the other the translated high band portion. The latter passes a demodulator 23 which translates it to its original high band prior to combination in an adder 24 with the low band portion to reproduce the video signal V. The bursts of reference oscillation may be added to the translated high band portion upstream of switch 7, Fig. 1. Colour signals may be added to the two signal portions immediately upstream of switch 7. These occupy a narrow band immediately above the lower band, and are extracted by filters prior to application to a further double switch identical in nature and control to the first double switch, Figs. 3 to 5 (not shown). Alternatively the colour component may be extracted downstream of first switch 20, Fig. 2, obviating the need for the second such switch.

    Abstract: This target indicator makes it possible to increase the accuracy and efficiency of guidance of homing missiles towards a target. For indicating ground targets, it comprises an ovoid casing (15) equipped with a rip cord (4), with a magnet (1) and with a coil (11) for detecting a variation in flux at the time of an impact on a magnetic surface. Arranged inside the casing are a battery (6), an electronic control and transmission circuit (5) and a barrel (2) of pulse generators (13) connected to one another by means of pyrotechnic delay devices (12). The barrel opens out onto a single nozzle (3) inclined relative to the axis (Z) of the casing. After impact on the ground, the electronic circuit (5) commands the ignition of the first pulse generator. The other pulse generators cause jumps until fastened on a magnetic surface by means of the magnet (1). After the detection of the flux variation, electronic circuit (5) commands the ignition of the rip cord (4) for the purpose of ejecting the casing (15) and the barrel of pulse generators (13) and triggers an ultrahigh frequency or infrared transmitter, depending on the particular homing missile to be homed in.
