Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a primer composition capable of providing good bonding strength, salt water resistance and water resistance by formulating an organoalkoxysilane compound having a glycidyl group and a hydrolyzable alkoxysilane group with water and a hydrophilic organic solvent in a specified ratio so as to form a composition having a specified or smaller angle of contact with the surface of aluminum. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. organoalkoxysilane compound (A) having a glycidyl group and a hydrolyzable alkoxysilane group with 0.5-20 pts.wt. water (B), and 1-200 pts.wt. hydrophilic organic solvent (C) so as to form a composition having an angle of contact of at most 50 deg. with the surface of aluminum. Component A is desirably 3- glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, 3-glycidoxypropyltriethoxysilane, 3- glycidoxypropylmethyldimethoxysilane, or 3-glycidoxypropylmethyldiethoxysilane. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for coating, and a coating material therefrom curable at low temperatures (room temperature), and having various excellent properties, e.g. high adhesivity and protection to substrates, having scratch- resistance and weather ability. SOLUTION: This composition contains an acrylic resin having carboxyl and hydroxyl groups, silane compound having glycidyl and hydrolyzable alkoxysilane groups in the molecule, and silane compound having amino or amide group and hydrolyzable alkoxysilane group in the molecule. It is drastically improved in resistance to weather, when the acrylic resin is copolymerized with a polymerizable, ultraviolet-absorptive, unsaturated monomer (R-UVA) and polymerizable, light-stable, unsaturated monomer (R-HALS), to protect the coating film itself and base.
