Abstract: This invention discloses heat-sensitive stencil paper and a production method thereof. Since no adhesive is used in this paper, the permeability to printing ink is not affected, and thus high-quality prints are obtained. The elimination of the use of adhesive prevents the decrease in resistance to ink, the adhesion to a thermal head, and emission of toxicious chlorine and improves the stability of film coating and productivity. This stencil paper is obtained by thermally bonding a polyester film and a porous support comprising a polyester fiber and co-stretching them, and the peel strength between the film and the porous support is at least 1 g/cm. Accordingly, prints obtained by stencil printing have very high quality.

Abstract: A polyester composite monofilament for screen gauze comprises (a) a sheath part made of a polyester having a glass transition temp (Tg) of 35-73 deg C, and (b) a core part made of a polyester having a higher Tg surface area ratio of (b) to (a) is 70:30-95:5. The strength at break of the monofilament is at least 6g/d and its modulus at elongation of 10% is at elast 3.5 g/d. Pref both sheath and core comprise polyester copolymer formed mainly of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Pref the sheath component is made by copolymerising at least one of dimer acid, adipic acid, sebacic acid and a cpd of formula R10(CnH2no)mR2 (I) with polyethylene terephthalate. In (I), R1 and R2 = 1-4C alkyl, n = 2-5 and m = 2-250. The monofilament has a concentric core/sheath structure, has a denier less than 9 or it may have at least 5 cores, each core having a strength of at 3d.

Abstract: 1,195,957. Composite filaments. TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc. 3 Sept., 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 41874/68. Heading B5B. [Also in Divisions D1-D2] A crimpable composite filament yarn comprises at least a single filament composed of two kinds of polyesters eccentrically arranged in the cross-section of the filament (including side-byside arrangement), the filament being provided with crimps the number of which is in the range 16-35 crimps/cm. after treatment with boiling water, the maximum stress of shrinkage of the filaments being larger than 50 mg./denier, and the temperature corresponding to said maximum stress being lower than 190‹ C. The difference in intrinsic viscosities of the polyesters is larger than 0À05. In a preferred embodiment the intrinsic viscosity of one polyester is in the range 0À6 to 0À85 and that of the other polyester is in the range 0À45 to 0À55. In the production of yarn, the two polymers are melted separately and spun together through a spinneret. A calm cylindrical zone is provided immediately following the spinneret and in front of a coagulating air stream. The strand of filaments is then collected into a package. The strand of filaments is then passed through a draw zone over a heated pin and a heated plate and wound into a cop. The drawn filament yarn is then passed through a thermal relaxation zone and the crimped yarn wound on to a bobbin. The yarn is used in the manufacture of crepe fabric and gives a " pebble " contraction of the fabric larger than 40%. Several examples of suitable polyesters are given in the Specification.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost method for producing a partially hollow polyester yarn for forming a fabric capable of solving defects of the prior art and excellent in touch feeling, fabric surface aesthetic properties and lightweight properties. SOLUTION: This method for producing a partially hollow polyester yarn is characterized in that a core-sheath conjugate yarn comprising (A) a polymer which is substantially a polyester and arranged in a sheath part and (B) a polymer having a greater temperature dependence of elongational viscosity than that of the polymer (A) and arranged in an amount of 2-15 wt.% based on the total weight of the core-sheath conjugate yarn in a core part is spun at
