Abstract: PURPOSE:The amount of coating solution that is excessively applied onto thermoplastic resin sheets is measured with a metering bar that is revolving at a specific peripheral speed by contacting with the sheets, thus preventing the breakage of wire and the formation of scratch on the sheets. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid of 0.2-100 cp viscosity is coated on one or both surfaces of undrawn or monoaxially stretched thermoplastic resin sheets with a thickness of over 150 microns excessively, then the amount is measured with a metering bar that is revolving under contact with the sheet at a peripheral speed of -10 to +10% higher than the running speed of the sheet. EFFECT:Bubbles in the coating liquid move along the metering bar to both edges of the sheet, thus preventing the occurence of defects due to voids at the center part.
