Abstract:
A thermoplastic polyester composition comprises a thermoplastic polyester prepared from an acid component mainly comprising an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a glycol component mainly comprising an aliphatic glycol and a particulate mixture of two or more aluminium oxide components different from each other in crystal structure types, one of which is the &thetas;-type crystal structure. Since films formed from the compositions can have excellent slipping property, abrasion resistance and scratch resistance in repeated high-speed running, they are particularly suitable as substrates in magnetic recording media.
Abstract:
A polyester fiber comprises a hygroscopic polyester composition which contains 1 to 20 percent by weight of hygroscopic silica-based inorganic particles in which the average diameter, the specific surface area, the micropore volume, and the hygroscopic parameter DELTA MR are within specified ranges. This hygroscopic fiber is suitable for clothes which require comfortableness.
Abstract:
A fiber comprising a polyester having moisture-absorbing and releasing property which contains 1 to 20 wt.% of silica-based inorganic particles having moisture-absorbing and releasing property and has specific ranges of an average diameter, a specific surface area, a pore volume and a moisture absorbing parameter ( .DELTA.MR). The fiber exhibits excellent moisture- absorbing and releasing property and thus can be suitably used as a fiber having moisture-absorbing and releasing property for a synthetic fiber fabri c being comfortable to wear.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti-static composite fiber having a high commercial value and excellent in light resistance by using a copolyester capable of highly satisfying both of a light resistance and an anti-static property. SOLUTION: This anti-static copolyester excellent in a light resistance contains 0.01-20 wt.% at least one or more kinds of compounds selected from a benzotriazole-based, a benzophenone-based, a cyanoacrylate-based and a salicylate-based compounds as a light resistant agent based on a copolyester 1 containing (A) a hydrophilic compound and (B) an alkali metal salt or an alkaline earth metal salt.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject fiber, having a high moisture absorption-release parameter (ΔMR) and thickness unevenness in the longitudinal direction in a specific range, composed of a hydrophilic component and a fiber-formable polymer, and having high hygroscopic characteristics, feel of dry touch, high dye fastness and resistance to light. SOLUTION: This fiber is composed of a hydrophilic component (e.g. polyether ester amide-based or polyether ester-based compound) and a fiber- formable polymer, has a moisture absorption-release parameter (ΔMR) of 1.0% or more and Uster normal U percentage of 5 to 20% as thickness unevenness in the longitudinal direction, and is suitable for, e.g. underwear, shirts, blouses, middlewear, sportswear, slacks, outerwear, linings, sheets and bedding covers.

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition free from the crystallization of a polyester oligomer onto the surface of a film and useful for producing the film excellent in running properties by compounding an aromatic polyester with a specific sulfonic acid lithium salt. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding an aromatic polyester composed mainly of (A) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and (B) an alkylene glycol with (C) 0.1-10wt.% of a lithium salt of a sulfonic acid of the formula RXSO3 Li (R is a 5-30C normal alkyl; X is an aromatic group). Further, the composition is preferably compounded with (D) particles insoluble in the polyester, having an average particle diameter of 0.01-2μm and substantially spherical (e.g. colloidal silica or spherical alumina) in an amount of 0.1-10.0wt.% based on the polyester. A film, which has polyester oligomers crystallized on its surface, having diameters of >=0.2μm, of after 2-hr aging at 120 deg.C, can be obtained by using the composition.

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition giving a film having excellent flatness, abrasion resistance and scratch resistance and suitable for magnetic tape, photographic film, graphic arts film, etc., by adding acicular inorganic particles to a polyester. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) a polyester composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid as a bifunctional acid component and a glycol component (preferably a polymer containing alkylene terephthalate or alkylene naphthalate as main constituent unit) with (B) preferably 0.01-5wt.% of acicular particles of an inorganic substance (preferably titanium oxide, aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide). The component B is preferably dispersed in glycol, etc., to be used as a raw material for the component A, slurrying the mixture and directly adding the slurry to the polymerization reactional system or kneading the slurry into the polyester. The component B, e.g. aluminum oxide, is produced by subjecting aluminum successively to alkylation, hydrolysis and thermal decomposition.
