Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an antistatic agent which is based on a salt of a phosphoric acid ester obtd. by reacting a mixt. of an alcohol or a polyoxyalkylene ether and a polyol with phosphoric anhydride and shows superior performance even at low humidity. CONSTITUTION:The antistatic agent effective even in the winter season or at low humidity (20-40%RH) is based on an org. or inorg. salt of a phosphoric acid ester obtd. by reacting a mixt. of an alcohol of the formula (where R is 1-22 C alkyl, alkenyl or alkylphenyl, R' is H or CH3 and n is O or an integer>0), e.g. n-butanol or a polyoxyalkylene ether and a polyol such as ethylene glycol with phosphoric anhydride. The molar ratio of the cpd. of the formula and polyol is pref. 1:0.1-3, and 1 mol equivalent of the hydroxy-contg. mixt. reacts with 0.2-1 mol equivalent of phosphoric anhydride. The reaction is carried out by adding phosphoric anhydride at below 70 deg.C followed by aging at 60-100 deg.C for 3-5 hr.
