    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve resolution in the whole area on an image screen and effectively prevent discharge having been apt to be caused hitherto by arranging a pair of electric field correcting members, which sandwich plural number of beams respectively from the directions crossing at right angles to those array direction, inside of electrodes in the vicinity of electron beam passing holes. CONSTITUTION:A pair of electric field correcting members 20 and 22, which sandwich three electron beams in a single line arrangement from the directions crossing at right angles to those array direction, are arranged on the fourth grid G4 side of the third grid G3 forming a main lens for an electron gun in an inline type color picture tube and inside of electrodes in the vicinity of electron beam passing holes on the third grid G3 side of the fourth grid G4, and the thickness of the sidewall for the electron beam passing holes on the fourth grid G4 side of the third grid G3 is also set as 10-20% of the diameter of those electron beam passing holes.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the color-purity drift of a picture due to the variation of the cathode voltage of a picture tube by connecting a metalic pin provided between a stem pin to be connected to a focusing electrode and an adjacent stem pin to another stem pin to be grounded. CONSTITUTION:When a metalic pin 41 projecting only inside with no outer lead wire is arranged between a stem pin 37a to be connected to 3rd grid G3, a focusing electrode, and an adjacent stem pin 37b, the stem pin 37a and the metalic pin 41 are electrically connected to each other through an electrostatic capacity 45 generated between them. Therefore, even if an AC voltage component of a dynamic focusing voltage applied to the stem pin 37a is leaked to the metalic pin 41 through the electrostatic capacity 45, because of the grounded potential of the pin 41, the leaked dynamic voltage can be shielded from the stem pin 37b, hence even when the cathode is connected to the adjacent stem pin 37b, the drift of the color balance of three colors of pictures due to cathode voltage variations generated by leaked AC voltage components can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of spacers to obtain an accurate distance between electrodes by providing convex portions in the long side of two sets of spacers which are inserted into auxiliary electrodes and pressing from one direction to set a space between the third grid electrode and the fourth grid electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electron gun is assembled by inserting the fourth grid electrode 24 into a jig 56, using three center rods 50 as a reference, and next inserting auxiliary rods 26a, 26b in which spacers 57, 58 provided with convex portions in the long side portion of the both sides are inserted into the opening of the side wall into the jig 56, using four side rods 55 as a reference, and further inserting the third grid electrode 23, a spacer 53, the second grid 12, a spacer 54 and the first grid 11, and applying pressure from the upwardness to weld the flange portion of the auxiliary electrode 26, and fixing them by means of an electrode supporter 2. Thus, it is possible to increase the strength of the spacers 57, 58 to prevent the deformation of the spacers and to accurately give the distance between the third grid electrode 23 and the fourth grid electrode 24 to given value.

The asymmetrical lens has asymmetry to the central beam which is different from that to the side beam.

The resistance value per unit length in the tube-axis direction, in the vicinity of the end of the inner conductive film 117, of one end side of the high-resistance conductive film 114 in contact with the inner conductive film 117 is set smaller than that in the vicinity of the other end 116 of the high-resistance conductive film 114.

CONSTITUTION: A color picture tube inside which an electron gun 17 whose main lens part is composed of a focusing electrode, an intermediate electrode and a final accelerating electrode and a resistor 7 to supply prescribed voltage to the intermediate electrode by dividing high voltage to be supplied to its final accelerating electrode are arranged, is provided. The final accelerating electrode and the intermediate electrode are electrically connected to each other by a shape memory alloy member 29 which does not release electric continuity at a temperature or less added in a manufacturing process of the color picture tube and is restored to a shape of releasing electric continuity at the temperature or more, and this shape memory alloy member is formed as a structure installed in a condition of being restored to a shape of releasing electric continuity to either one of the final accelerating electrode and the intermediate electrode.
