Abstract: PURPOSE: To effectively utilize the communication line of the whole system which has an up and down narrow-band radio channel and a down broad-band channel. CONSTITUTION: When a radio mobile station 101 enters the service area 161 of a broad-band radio base station 105 and data are transmitted through the down broad-band radio channel (down radio channel from the broad-band radio base station 105 to radio mobile station 101), the narrow-band down radio channel becomes free. This free channel is assigned as the up radio channel of the same radio mobile station 101 and the data are transmitted from the radio mobile station 101 to the narrow-band radio base station 102. Consequently, high-speed transmission is enabled making the most use of the transmitting capacity of the broad-band down radio channel.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve frequency utilizing efficiency by changing the slot interval ratio of an up line and a down line between a radio base station and a mobile station inside a service area. CONSTITUTION: Inside a service area 6, a radio base station 1 and plural mobile stations 4 perform duplex communication at the same frequency through a time division slot while using respective up channel lines 4 and down channel lines 3. This base station 1 is provided with a slot ratio changing means 7 and the slot interval ratio of up and down lines 4 and 3 is dynamically changed. Thus, the uselessness of channels can be reduced even against the communication of the asymmetrical traffic of up and down channels and frequency utilizing efficiency can be improved. Further, delay characteristics can be improved as well.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure the stable operation of a base band signal receiver by securing the coincidence between the eye position of an eye pattern, i.e., the detection output of each time slot and the rising of a baud rate clock synchronized with a system clock. CONSTITUTION:The received base band signals of channels I and Q are converted into the digital signals by the A/D converters 2 and 7 respectively. The inter-code interferences of the digital signals are suppressed by the RCROF filters 18 and 19. A received clock reproduction circuit 10 reproduces a received clock out of the detection output of a detection circuit 5. Then a plural-time slot control circuit 20 detects the pase errors of plural time slots and outputs a control signal to an RCROF coefficient control circuit 21 for phase control. The circuit 21 controls the filter coefficients of both filters 18 and 19 based on the control signal and corrects the phases of the time slots so that these phases are synchronized with the total system clock of a base band signal receiver.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain demodulation immune to fading with a low error rate by dividing the multi-value signal subject to delay detection into plural groups and demodulating a signal in each divided group. CONSTITUTION:An input signal is subject to delay detection by a delay detector 101 and inputted to a BM (branchmetric) calculation device 102. The BM calculation device 102 divides the delay detection output into, e.g. four groups, calculates the BM under the criterion for each group and the resulting data are inputted to a VA (Viterbi algorithm) computing element 103. The VA computing element 103 applies ACS calculation based on the BM and decides an optimum criterion based on the VA. A delay device 104 used the optimum criterion to delay the delay detection output by the same time as that required for the VA computing and BM calculation. A discriminator 105 uses the delayed signal and the signal subject to VA computing by the VA computing element 103 to discriminate the reception signal and outputs the result as demodulation data.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable satisfactory communication even when a communication satellite is set at any position by selecting an antenna element out of plural antenna element based on received field intensity or the position information of the communication satellite. CONSTITUTION:Radio waves from a low orbit satellite 6 for mobile object communication are received by an antenna 8. In this case, a mobile object 9 has information concerning the satellite 6 in a low orbit satellite position information memory 10. Further, the received field intensity from the antenna 8 is measured by a received field intensity measuring instrument 13a and based on the position information held in the memory 10 and the received field intensity, an elevation angle calculator 12 calculates an elevation angle between the satellite 6 and the mobile object 9. Next, a directivity pattern (directivity, directivity gain and directivity half value width) 11 is prepared by a directivity pattern generator 13. Then, communication is executed with the satellite 6 which selecting the antenna element having the strongest received field intensity among the plural antenna elements.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To establish almost synchronizingly the synchronization of a slot and the synchronization of a clock in a short preamble by inputting a detection signal to a filter through which only a BTR preamble passes and establishing the timing synchronization through the use of its output. CONSTITUTION:After a reception signal is detected by a delay detector 11, the result is inputted to a timing detection filter 12. When a burst peak threshold level detection section 13 discriminates it that the input of the burst signal is highly possible, the section 13 detects a clock phase momentarily. Then the output of the detection section 13 and the output of the filter 12 are used to obtain synchronization of the clock at a clock initial synchronization section 14 and an output of the detector 11 is sampled and discriminated by a discrimination section 15. The discriminated value is inputted to a unique word discrimination means 16 and when a unique word is detected within a prescribed time after a burst signal is detected, a burst acquisition discrimination section 17 discriminates it to be a true burst. Through the constitution above, slot synchronization and clock synchronization are attained in a short time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress power consumption by inhibiting the drive of a 1st demodulator having an adaptive automatic equalizer when a 2nd demodulator not provided with an adaptive automatic equalizer is driven. CONSTITUTION:The training signal part of a 1st signal S1 inputted to a delay device 3 is demodulated by the delay detector 7 of a 2nd demodulator and delayed by a time required for the completion of a code error rate measurement and inputted to an adaptive automatic equalizer 5 via a changeover switch SWa controlled by a flag depending on an optional threshold level by a code error rate measurement instrument 9. When the flag is not set, the signal S1 is not inputted to the equalizer 5 and the operation of the equalizer 5 is stopped at all times. Moreover, the signal inputted to a delay device 11 being a signal outputted from a delay device 3 except the training signal from the delay detector 7 is inputted to the equalizer 5 through the switch SWa and delayed by a time required for the completion of the equalizing processing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration in the frequency utilizing efficiency by providing a distortion compensation section detecting the output distortion of an amplifier and applying inverse characteristic to a transmission modulation signal. CONSTITUTION:A reception signal from an antenna 6 is demodulated by a demodulator 10 via a switching section 11, a high frequency filter 5, a switch 13, a multiplier 7a, a low pass filter 8, an A/D converter 9 and a switch 16. A modulation signal from a modulator 1 at transmission is led to the antenna 6 via an inverse characteristic addition circuit 15, a multiplier 2a, an amplifier 3, a distributer 2 and a switching section 11. A part of the output from the distributer 12 enters a distortion detection circuit 14 via a switch 13, a multiplier 7a, the filter 8 and a converter 9, the output distortion of the amplifier 3 is detected and the inverse characteristic of the detected distortion is applied to the output of the modulator 1 by the circuit 15. Thus, a nonlinear power amplifier is employed for the transmission section while suppressing an out-band radiation due to the nonlinear distortion to suppress the reduction in the frequency utilization efficiency.
