PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering system capable of shortening a selection processing time remarkably by applying cooperation filtering. SOLUTION: A data decomposing and analyzing part 100 decomposes "data" input by a user into "information elements" and extracts the "information elements". A data pair creating part 200 allocates "evaluation" for the "data" to the "information elements" decomposed from the "data" to generate a data pair comprising a "user", the "information elements" and the "evaluation". A cooperation filtering processing 300 performs cooperation filtering processing, and generates a data pair of a plurality of "recommended candidate users", "recommended candidate information elements" and "evaluation estimated values". A data converting part 400 calculates the total evaluation estimated value to the "data", and creates a recommended list by determining "recommendation data" and a "recommended user". PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a terminal device capable of efficiently utilizing communication resources of a network and limited resources (power, storage capacity, etc.), of the terminal device. SOLUTION: In the communications system consists of a server connected to a prescribed network and the terminal for receiving various information distributed from the server through the network, the server distributes information to be distributed to the terminal device in block or dividedly to the terminal device in accordance with at least one of the available storage capacity of the terminal device and residual battery quantity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system for providing a service that needs high-speed transmission in a wide area. SOLUTION: In the radio communication system provided with at least a first outgoing link for performing transmission from a base station 23 to a terminal at a first transmission speed, a second outgoing link for performing transmission from a base station 24 to the terminal at a second transmission speed that is slower than the first transmission speed, and an incoming link for performing transmission from the terminal to the base stations at the second transmission speed, in the case information to be transmitted to the terminal from a base station is divided between initial information 25 and additional information 26, the initial information 25 is transmitted through the first outgoing link and the additional information 26 is transmitted through the second outgoing link.

CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with plural terminals 1 and 2 connected through a network 10 inside a service area, plural data bases from 12-1 to 12-4 which can be accessed through the network 10 and transmit requested information to any prescribed terminal, and database managing mechanism 16 for selecting any database, with which specified information A transmitted from the terminal 1 to the network 10 can be most efficiently transmitted to the specified terminal 2, corresponding to a delivery request (1) showing the request of transmission of the information A to the terminal 2 and for requesting the transmission of the information A to the terminal 2 to this selected database.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television set with a video phone function and remote controller set in which a user can answer a telephone call without being disturbed in viewing of a full-screen television program even if the telephone call is incoming while viewing the television program. SOLUTION: There are provided: a receiving unit for receiving a digital broadcasting signal; a processing unit for restoring and reproducing a program from the digital broadcasting signal received by the receiving unit; a display unit for displaying a video image in the program restored by the processing unit; an audio output unit for outputting audio in the program; a video phone processing unit for performing phone call processing via a communication interface; and a remote control communication input/output unit for performing two-way communication with the remote control set. If a call termination notification comes to the video phone processing unit, the call termination notification is performed on a remote controller via the remote controller communication input/output unit and after a line is established, communication is performed mutually with the remote controller set, thereby making a conversation via the remote controller set. SOLUTION: A network system is provided with: a plurality of links 1; an external network 2; and wireless terminals 1 making communication while moving between the links 1. Wireless LAN access points (wireless LAN APs) 4 which terminals 3 wirelessly access, routers 5 for making communication control when the wireless terminals 3 make communication with other links or the external network 2, and a hub 6 making connection control between the routers 5 and the wireless LAN APs 4 are connected to each of the links 1. Since the routers 5 include a link identifier in a router advertisement advertised to the external network 2 and the local network, the wireless terminal 3 receives the link identifier to simply and quickly recognize to which link the wireless terminal 3 is connected. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system in which setup and call interruption of a radio communication terminal equipment connecting to a network via two-way incoming/outgoing narrow band radio channels and an outgoing broad band radio channel are conducted efficiently, the power consumption of a receiver of a broad band radio channel provided to the radio communication terminal equipment is reduced and the radio communication terminal equipment is made small. SOLUTION: A radio communication terminal equipment 5 sets a call with a narrow band radio base station 3 to set up a 2-way narrow band radio channel and makes setup request to a database 2 by using the 2-way narrow band radio channel and the database 2 accordingly makes setup request between the broad band radio base station 4 and a terminal equipment 5 to assign the outgoing broad band radio channel to the terminal equipment 5 and sets a call between the terminal equipment 5 and the database 2.

PURPOSE: To secure the transmission quality of a down link and simplify the constitution of a portable electronic device. CONSTITUTION: The transmission rate change request signal detection part 005 of a base station 000 extracts a signal requesting a change in the signal transmission rate (signal transmission rate of down link) at the time of the transmission of a signal from the base station 000 to the portable electronic device 001, and performs operation for changing the signal transmission rate of the down link. A modulation part 007 changes the signal transmission speed and outputs a modulated signal to the portable electronic device 001. A propagation path estimation part 013 estimates a propagation path between the base station 000 and portable electronic device 001 and outputs the estimation result to a control part 014. The control part 014 judges whether or not the signal transmission rate of the down link is changed from the output of the propagation path estimation part 013 and generates and outputs a change request signal to a modulation part 015 when the transmission rate is changed.

CONSTITUTION:The transmitter is provided with a coding means 1 coding an information series to obtain a transmission data series, a transmission means 3 sending the transmission data series to a receiver side, a decoding means 5 receiving the signal sent by the transmission means 3 and decoding the received signal into a decoded data series, and error timing estimate means 6, 7 receiving at least one of the reception signal, the decoded data series, and output from the decoding means 5 other than the decoded data series to estimate a timing when an error takes place in the received signal, and at least one of the decoding and coding methods is corrected based on an error timing estimated by the error timing estimate means 6, 7.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit which enables easy identification of individuals by operation of a power switch, etc., and also enables to display the arrival of an incoming call on a telephone, etc. according to the identification results. SOLUTION: The display unit comprises a plurality of power switches; a registrator 42 for registering telephone number information according to individual identification information; a communication portion which receives an incoming call signal with telephone number information from an external apparatus; and a processor which identifies an individual by receiving an operation signal from one of the plurality of power switches, and makes a display unit display that there is an incoming call of a telephone when the telephone number information received by the communication portion is the same as the telephone number information corresponding to the individual identification information, indicated by the identification results out of the individual identification information registered in the registration portion.
