    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a copolymer from ethylene and an alpha-olefin using a new catalytic system. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer having excellent physical properties can be obtained by stable polymerization using a catalytic system. This catalytic system is made up of (A) an organoaluminum component and (B) a solid component which can be prepared by the following method: a carrier, a reaction product of an aluminum halide, silicon compound and Grignard compound are treated with a non-reductive compound followed by carrying a titanium compound and then successive treatment with an electron donor, titanium compound and organometallic compound.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce an ethylene copolymer which need not be deashed and is improved in mechanical strengths by copolymerizing ethylene with an alpha-olefin in the presence of a specified catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A solid obtained by bringing a carrier obtained by reacting a reaction product of 0.1-10mol of an aluminum halide (A) with 1mol of an organosilicon compound (B) of formula I (wherein R is 1-8C alkyl or phenyl; R is 1-8C alkyl; and m is 0-3) with 0.05-4mol, per mol of component A, of a Grignard compound (C) of formula II (wherein R is R ; and X is halogen) into contact with at least 1mol, per mol of component C, of a nonreducing compound (D) of formula III [wherein M is Al, Mg, B, Si, C or P; R and R are each R ; X is X ; p+q>=1; r>=0; and n=p+q+r (wherein n is the valence of M)], and further bringing the product of contact into contact with at least 1mol, per mol of component C, of a Ti compound (E) of formula IV (wherein R is R ; X is X ; and s is 0-4) is brought into contact with an electron donor and component E to obtain a solid catalyst component. A catalyst comprising the above catalyst component and an organoaluminum compound is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high temp. superconducting thin film having satisfactory crystalline property by prepg. the crystalline thin film basing on an organometallic vapor growth process while supplying ozone as at least a part of oxidizing gas. CONSTITUTION:A crystalline thin film of an oxide high temp. superconducting material is prepd. by supplying ozone as at least a part of oxidizing gas in a stage of prepg. the crystalline oxide high temp. superconducting thin film basing on an organometallic vapor growth process. It is desirable to irradiate a base plate with light having 150-600nm wavelength in order to prepare a thin film having satisfactory crystalline property on a base plate at a relatively low temp. Examples for the crystalline oxide high temp. superconducting thin film prepd. by the organometallic vapor growth are those comprising Bi-alkaline earth element-Cu-O type superconducting ceramic, or rare earth element-alkaline earth element Cu-O type superconducting ceramic, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a high-temperature superconducting ceramic with electrical insulating properties and to improve water-vapor resistance and stability of superconducting characteristics, by coating the surface of the high-temperature superconducting ceramic with a solution of poly(metallo)carbosilane in an organic solvent and heat-treating to form a coating film. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a high-temperature superconducting ceramic (e.g., superconducting ceramic of Y-Ba-Cu-O base) is coated with a solution of an organosilicon polymer selected from a polycarbosilane comprising a carbosilane bond unit shown by the formula (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl, phenyl or H) and a polymetallocarbosilane (e.g., polytitanocarbosilane) in an organic solvent. In order to improve flexibility and adhesivity of coating film, the solution can be blended with an inorganic filler (e.g., TiO2), silicone resin, etc. Then the coated ceramic is heat-treated to form the coating film on the surface of the high-temperature superconducting ceramic.
