Abstract: A draw latch retainer is used to secure a filter cartridge to a filter head. A cam actuated retainer extends from the head to engage a keeper in the top of the cartridge. Rotation of the cam draws the retainer and cartridge axially toward the head into an installed position. The retainer extends through an aperture in the upper portion of the cartridge to apply a retention force against the bottom side of the keeper. The keeper and upper portion of the cartridge supporting the keeper are configured to transmit the retaining force laterally across the top of the cartridge. A pair of axial conduits project from the cartridge and mount O-ring seals for implementing an axial sealing interface with passages in the head.

Abstract: A filter element including a first filter media pack with an inlet face and an outlet face and a second filter media pack with an inlet face and an outlet face. Exemplary filter media pack characteristics include the length, width, height, shape, media density, layer spacing, pleat bend angle, pleat density, and material composition of the first and second filter media packs.

Abstract: This invention pertains to a fluid filter apparatus and more particularly to an improved fluid filter apparatus in which a plurality of disc-like filter elements or pads is preferably mounted on a perforated tubing, although, it can work without the tubing. Each filter element is a disc-like member having a hole cut in the center and is made of a filtering type material such as fiberglass, paper or felt. Each element is cut in a pattern such as a square, triangle or hexagon whose sides are straight or curvilinear which can be cut without waste. Adjacent stacked disc filter elements are orientated such that the configuration of two adjacent filter elements does not coincide. For example, in regard to a square type configuration filter element, adjacent elements are preferably rotated 45.degree. with respect to each other from their aligned position.

Use of the high efficiency air filter assembly in high temperature applications wherein the filter assembly is repeatedly or continuously heated to a temperature in the range of 200-500° C.

Abstract: A filtration assembly filters diesel fuel used by a diesel engine and includes a filter element disposed within a housing. The housing includes an unfiltered fuel inlet and a filtered fuel outlet. The filter element disposed within the housing receives fuel from the fuel inlet. The filter element defines a peripheral wall sealably engaging filter media defining an unfiltered side and a filtered side of the filter element. The unfiltered side is enclosed with an impermeable barrier affixed to the peripheral wall and the filtered side is enclosed with a permeable water diffuser through which filtered fuel passes. A water separator assembly is disposed externally to the filter element receiving filtered fuel from the water diffuser. The water separator assembly includes water separator media preventing water from passing into the separator. The separator assembly interconnects to the filtered fuel outlet providing filtered, dewatered diesel fuel to the diesel engine.
