    Abstract: A non-cylindrical membrane casing watertightly houses a non-cylindical membrane element for filtering raw water. The membrane casing comprises a non-cylindrical casing main body, a lid body fitting an opening end of the casing main body and movable in an axial direction of the casing main body, a pressing mechanism pressing and holding the membrane element. The pressing mechanism comprises a supporting unit supported by the casing main body, a maintaining unit adjustably maintaining relative positions of the supporting unit and the lid body along the axial direction. The lid body is fitted to an opening end of the casing main body, a seal is disposed on an outer peripheral edge surface of the lid body to ensure watertightness with an inner peripheral face of the casing main body and the inner peripheral face of the casing main body is smooth at least in a moving range of the seal.

    Abstract: This membrane casing, which houses in a watertight manner a membrane element (2) for filtering raw water, comprises: a tubular casing main body (40) that houses a membrane element (2); a lid body (50) that fits the opening end of the casing main body (40) and is configured in a manner able while maintaining the attitude thereof to move in the axial direction of the casing main body (40) while securing watertightness with respect to the casing main body (40); and a pressing mechanism (60, 70) that presses/holds the membrane element (2) housed in the casing main body (40) by pressing the lid body (50). The membrane casing has a simple configuration capable of affixing in a watertight manner by means of a predetermined pressing force by accommodating unevenness in size of the membrane element, even if the membrane casing cannot be formed into a cylindrical shape.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating wastewater containing fluorine which can eliminate a process for returning sludge and simplify an apparatus and the apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: The wastewater containing fluorine is introduced into a mixing tank 1, a calcium compound is added into the wastewater in the tank 1 so that calcium fluoride is formed to make the fluorine insoluble, liquid in the tank 1 is introduced into a film immersion tank 7 and is subjected to solid-liquid separation by a membrane separator 8 arranged in the tank 7, the membrane of the separator 8 is cleaned and the liquid in the tank 7 is agitated by an ascending current generated by the air lift effect of air ejected from a diffuser 10 arranged below the separator 8, the treated water is discharged outside the tank by the solid-liquid separation, and the calcium fluoride remaining in the tank is used as seed crystals to promote the generation of calcium fluoride by the reaction between unreacted fluorine and calcium compounds.
