    Abstract: A door mounting assembly for a hollow cabinet utilizes a pair of vertically inclined elongated scissor members pivotally secured together at aligned centers lying in a place adjacent one side wall of the cabinet. The members are movable between a first compressed position and a second expanded position. Upper and lower horizontal guides are secured to the inner surfaces of the top and bottom of the cabinet. A vertical elongated third member is selectively secured both pivotally and slidably to the scissor members and is disposed in the guides. An end of one of the scissor members is pivotally secured to and is vertically slidable in a vertical support fixed in position in the cabinet.

    Abstract: An actuator assembly (10) for pivoting a closure (29), such as a tailgate, includes an actuator (11), a first bar (20), a second bar (22), and an operating strut (21) operably connected to the closure (29). The actuator (11) includes an actuator rod (16) reciprocable along a longitudinal axis (L-L). The first bar (20) has one end connected via a first pivot (18) to an outer end of the actuator rod (16) and the other end connected via a second pivot (19) to the operating strut (21). The second bar (22) is pivoted at one end relative to the actuator (11) by a third pivot (24) and the other end connected to said first bar (20) by a fourth pivot (23).     Abstract: A biasing device biases a movable first structure (1) relative to a second structure (2). The device is used as a closing mechanism for sliding doors or windows. A motion reducing mechanism in the form of a pantograph (7) or half pantograph is connected between the first and second structures. A biasing means (16) connects the pantograph (7) to the second structure (2). The biasing means (16) can be a spring, pneumatic cylinder or length of resilient material.     Abstract: A lifting apparatus for lifting and lowering a component of an automobile body that is hingedly and releasably attached to the automobile body at first and second attachment points. The lifting apparatus includes an extension member having first and second ends that is operable to move from a normally retracted position to an extended position. The first end of the extension member is pivotally attached to the component at a third attachment point and the second end of the extension member is pivotally attached to the automobile body. An actuator is operable to extend and retract the extension member. When a one of the first and second attachment points is released, the extension member moves from the retracted position to the extended position and moves the component to an open position about the other of the first and second attachment points.
