Abstract:
Combustion method and apparatus for NOx reduction which are capable of achieving NOx reduction with the value of exhaust NOx under 10 ppm, as well as CO reduction at the same time. The combustion method for fulfilling NOx reduction and CO reduction by suppressing temperature of combustion gas derived from a burner comprises a NOx reduction step for suppressing combustion gas temperature in such a manner that suppression of NOx generation is preferred to reduction of exhaust CO value, thereby keeping NOx value not more than a specified value, and a CO reduction step for thereafter reducing exhaust CO value resulting from the NOx reduction step to not more than a specified value.
Abstract:
A multi-stage heating apparatus having a first stage combustion chamber, a second stage combustion chamber, a primary porous matrix chamber disposed between the first and second stage combustion chambers, a secondary porous matrix chamber, heat exchanger tubes for transfer of heat from the combustion products to a working fluid, a recirculation device for recirculating combustion products in the first and second stage combustion chambers to the root of flames therein. A mixture of fuel and primary oxidant is introduced into the first stage combustion chamber, and the products of combustion therein are conveyed to the porous matrix chamber disposed between the first and second stage combustion chambers. After undergoing intensive heat transfer in the porous matrix chamber, the cooler products of combustion flow into the second stage combustion chamber forming additional products of combustion. The products of combustion then flow to a second porous matrix chamber in which they undergo further intensive heat transfer. From there, the products of combustion pass through an economizer for preheating a working fluid and through a condenser for removing moisture in the combustion products prior to being exhausted.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hybrid combustion system (1) wherein rich homogeneous combustion and lean catalytic combustion are carried out consecutively, which results in zero NOx emission and is used for obtaining domestic hot water. The present invention relates to a combustion system wherein two serially connected heat exchangers units, which are located in the outlets of the rich homogeneous combustion unit and the lean catalytic combustion unit, transfers the heat generated during combustion reactions into domestic radiator heating water and/or tap water for hot water generation.
Abstract:
Boiler comprising a support structure, a burner mounted on said support structure, susceptible to burn a mixture of comburent air and fuel for generating a flow of hot fumes and means for transferring heat from the above-mentioned fumes to a hydraulic circuit of a carrier fluid, water in particular. Such heat transferring means are provided with at least a first heat exchanger and at least a second heat exchanger susceptible to exchange heat with the hot fumes in sequence. The boiler comprises at least one pipe made of ceramic material arranged inside the burner, susceptible to convey the fumes between the first exchanger and the second exchanger, and a plurality of nozzles for introducing the mixture. The nozzles are arranged spaced from each other inside the burner, around the above-mentioned pipe and are susceptible to generate a flame in contact with the outer surface of the pipe.
Abstract:
A combustor (16) for a turbomachine includes a rich combustion zone (41) and a low temperature zone (43) downstream of the rich combustion zone. A heat exchanger (100) is positioned downstream of the rich combustion zone and upstream of the low temperature zone. The heat exchanger includes a plurality of air passages, a plurality of air inlets in fluid communication with the plurality of air passages, and a plurality of combustion gas passages. Each of the combustion gas passages extends between a combustion gas inlet in fluid communication with the rich combustion zone and a combustion gas outlet in fluid communication with the low temperature zone. The plurality of combustion gas passages are in thermal communication with the plurality of air passages.

Abstract:
A device heating a fluid and usable in a rocket launcher to pressurize a liquefied propellant. The device includes a first burner performing first combustion between a limiting propellant and an excess propellant; a first heat exchanger in which first burnt gas from the first combustion transfers heat to the fluid; at least one second burner into which both the first burnt gas and some limiting propellant are injected to perform second combustion between the limiting propellant and at least a portion of unburnt excess propellant present in the first burnt gas. The second burnt gas from the second combustion flows through a second heat exchanger to transfer heat to the fluid. Burnt gas from each combustion flows in respective burnt gas tubes within a common overall heat exchanger including the heat exchange units, the gas transferring heat to the fluid, the fluid flowing between the burnt gas tubes.
