Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to offer a simple method for improving the adhesion of fluorinated resins to metal materials, and for obtaining composite materials of metal materials and fluorinated resins and composite materials of metal materials and fluorinated resins-containing materials. The method consists of treating the surface of the metal with a (metha)crylate copolymer prior to the adhesion of metal and fluorinated resins or fluorinated resins-containing materials.
Abstract:
In the manufacture of machine parts (1), sliding surfaces (3) are formed on the blanks after the latter have been produced and must subsequently be polished. In the proposed method of polishing sliding surfaces (3), the latter are provided with a plastic coating.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for applying a coating of lubricant on at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface of a can body (6) wherein a turret (16) having a plurality of pockets (18) formed in its outer peripheral surface is mounted for rotation about a relatively fixed axis and during the rotation thereof a can body (6) is fed into each pocket (18). The can body (6) in each pocket (18) is held against a can rotating device (30), the outer peripheral surfaces of a pair of rotating rolls having a space therebetween, by a vacuum acting through the space so that the can body is rotated thereby and while rotating is moved against an arcuate wick (34) having a supply of lubricant so as to form a coating of lubricant on at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the can body (6).
Abstract:
A method to reduce high breakout and sustaining forces between slidable surfaces includes applying a film of lubricant to at least one of the surfaces and subjecting the lubricant and surface to an ionizing plasma. The invention includes articles having slidable surfaces of low breakout and sustaining forces.
Abstract:
A one-faced or double-faced release sheet presenting an adequate barrier against coating solutions of release agent, good adhesion to release agents, high heat resistance and minimum heat shrinkage comprising a support sheet having a release layer formed on at least one side thereof with an undercoated layer being disposed between said support sheet and the release layer, said undercoated layer being formed from a mixture of a soap-free type acrylic resin emulsion and oxidized starch.
Abstract:
A multilayer coated article such as a baking pan with a primer of silicone resin and silicone oil and a topcoat of silicone resin, colloidal silica and flake pigment.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of forming a polyfluorocarbon coating on a razor blade cutting edge comprising the steps of: dispersing a fluorocarbon polymer in a supercritical fluid; coating said razor blade cutting edge with the dispersion; and heating the coating sufficiently to adhere the fluorocarbon polymer to the blade edge.
Abstract:
According to the method of the invention, first a paste is produced from a plastics dispersion and fillers in order to form the plastics sliding layer. This paste is free from organic solvents and is applied to a sintered porous metal layer. The resultant multi-layer material is then sintered. Since organic solvents are not used, the risks to health and the risk of fire are considerably reduced. Furthermore, the composite materials produced according to the invention have exceptional resistance to cavitation. In addition to conventional fields of application relative to lubrication-free articles, such as bearings, these composite materials can therefore also be used in gear pumps and shock absorbers.
Abstract:
An article of cookware is provided with a cooking surface in which a pattern is made by different levels of roughness. A non-stick coating has mica that orients preferentially over the smoother areas of the substrate and randomly over the rougher areas of the substrate.
