Abstract: The guide for a shaft (20) performing an oscillating motion about a centre of rotation on its axis consists of a bearing with its inner ring formed by a ball (30) on the shaft and two rows of balls (40) between it and outer rings (46). The balls (40) are set in cages (42) and run in semicylindrical annular grooves (44) in the rings. The bearing is completed by two further rows of balls (50, 52) and additional outer rings. The axial gap between the bearing outer rings (46) is controlled by a regulator in the form of a nut (60) that screws onto a fixed support (26). The guide allows the shaft to pivot through an angle of about 8 degrees from its median position.
