Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a, polyimide film having high transparency and improved bending resistance against multiple times of bending, and a varnish capable of providing such a polyimide film. The varnish according to the present invention contains a polymer (α) and a solvent (β). The polymer (α) is polyimide or a polyimide precursor. The varnish further contains a typical metal element having an atomic weight of 26-201 except alkali metals and alkaline earth metals, or at least one metal element among transition metal elements having an atomic weight of 26-201 or less. At least one of the metal elements contained in the varnish is present in an amount of 0.05-500 ppm relative to the polymer (α).

Abstract: A high voltage or medium voltage transmission power cable includes a metallic conductor and an insulation system including an electrical insulation layer including a first composite material, and a semiconducting layer including a second composite material. The insulation layer and the semiconducting layer are arranged to surround the conductor. The first composite material in the insulation layer includes a polymer matrix and first inorganic conductive filler particles, wherein the amount of the first inorganic conductive filler particles is from 0.1 to 10 wt-%, based on the total weight of the first composite material, and wherein the first inorganic conductive filler particles are other than carbon black. A method of manufacturing the cable is also disclosed.

Abstract: A composition can include polystyrene, modified-polystyrene, or a mixture thereof. The polystyrene, modified-polystyrene, or mixture thereof can include carbon nanotubes. The composition can also include a polyolefin. The composition can include at most 1.90% by weight of carbon nanotubes, based on a total weight of the composition. The composition can be prepared by providing a masterbatch including at least 5% by weight of carbon nanotubes based on a total weight of the masterbatch, and a polyolefin and/or styrenic copolymer. The masterbatch can be blended with polystyrene, modified-polystyrene, or a mixture thereof, and with a polyolefin, in amounts such that a conductive composition is obtained. An article can be made of the conductive composition.

Abstract: A one component spray polyurethane foam formulation containing a polymeric isocyanate with nominal functionality of 2.5 to 3.5, a polyol component that is at least 85 percent aliphatic and having a mole ratio of polyol with three or more functionality to total polyol of 0.2 to 0.75, 15-30 wt % of a plasticizer, 1.5-3.5 wt % phosphorous, 5.5 to 11.5 halogen and 1.5 to 5 millimoles of blowing agent per gram of formulation and that is free of expandable graphite achieves a B2 rating in DIN 4102 testing.
