Abstract: In a method for the commissioning of a door or window closer which comprises an energy accumulator, a damping device with an electric motor being operable as a generator and a transmission element, the leaf is opened and/or closed at least once in a teach-in process, the angular position of the motor shaft is detected during opening and/or closing, a functional relationship is determined between the angular position of the motor shaft and an angular position of the rotatable leaf at least over an area of the opening width of the leaf and the functional connection is automatically taken as a basis for a subsequent actuation of the electric motor for the damping of the closing movement of the leaf.

Abstract: In an aspect, a lifter plate is provided that is capable of a relatively strong connection to a vehicle window. The lifter plate includes a lifter plate body including a first side wall and a second side wall configured to receive a vehicle window there between, a window holding member positionable in a locking position to prevent the withdrawal of the vehicle window from between the first and second side walls, and a locking member positioned to prevent the movement of the window holding member out of the locking position in the event of a force urging the withdrawal of the vehicle window from between first and second side walls.

Abstract: The present invention essentially comprises a spring engagement system of an overhead door backup spring system operable upon failure of a main spring, and method of using the spring engagement system. The spring engagement system has a spring engagement unit operably associated with a spring, and an engagement unit operably associated with the spring engagement unit. The engagement unit is engageable with the spring engagement unit in an engaged position upon activation thereof. The engagement unit can transfer torque from the spring to a shaft in the engaged position. The engagement unit is actuating by engagement of an activation unit, which is actuated upon failure of the main spring associated with an overhead door.

Abstract: In an aspect, the invention is directed to a combination of a carrier and a pulley assembly. The pulley assembly includes a pulley having an associated pulley rotation axis, a pulley bearing member and a pulley fastener. The pulley fastener connects the pulley assembly to the carrier. The pulley bearing member includes a pulley assembly bending load bearing surface. The carrier is mountable to a vehicle and includes a pulley fastener mount for receiving the pulley fastener. The carrier further includes a carrier bending load bearing surface that engages the pulley bending load bearing surface. The pulley assembly bending load bearing surface is generally conical about the pulley rotation axis and tapers outwardly in a direction axially towards the pulley. Abstract: An electromechanical strut is provided for moving a pivotal lift gate between an open position and a closed position relative to a motor vehicle body. The electromechanical strut includes a housing connected to one of the lift gate and the motor vehicle body. An extensible shaft is slidably mounted to the housing. The extensible shaft is connected to the other of the lift gate and the motor vehicle body. A drive mechanism includes a rotatable power screw. The drive mechanism converts rotary motion of the power screw into linear motion of the extensible shaft to move the extensible shaft between a retracted position corresponding to the closed position of the lift gate and an extended position corresponding to the open position of the lift gate. A power spring includes one end connected to the extensible shaft and another end connected to the housing for providing a mechanical counterbalance to the weight of the lift gate.

Abstract: A cable tensioner includes two cams mounted to face each other that pivot about a common spindle. A torsion spring is centered on the spindle. The torsion spring includes a first end in abutment with a first cam and a second end in abutment with a second cam.
