    Abstract: The present invention provides compositions comprising about 0.4 to about 79.6 weight percent 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane, about 0.4 to about 79.6 weight percent dichlorotrifluoroethane selected from the group consisting of 1,1-dichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane, 1,2-dichloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethane, and mixtures thereof, and from about 5 to about 20 weight percent of alkanol having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.     Abstract: An actuating system for a primary flight control surface including unique electric drive motors having an integral detent mode. The motors include a unique laminated stator core and means for changing the continuity of the magnetic circuit. The stator core structure is split into two part-cylindrical elements which define air gaps between their opposing ends. Flux gates fill the air gaps and provide magnetic circuit continuity. The flux gates are connected to solenoids which can displace the flux gates in and out of the air gaps, thereby changing the continuity of the magnetic circuit of the motor. The motor rotor aligns its magnetic axis with the air gaps, and will resist substantial imposed torque loads.

    Abstract: A high load capacity journal foil bearing (16) and more particularly undersprings (22) therefor. The journal foil bearing (16) preferably includes a number of individual pads or foils (20) which are conventionally mounted to a journal and have a pad face proximate a rotating shaft (12). The undersprings (22) each include a number of curvilinear support beams (30) or corrugations which are varied in width and pitch to optimize the spring force supporting the overlying foil (20).     Abstract: A solvant control arrangement for stripping liquid solvent from parts being degreased/defluxed in a degreaser or defluxer by intimate contact with liquid solvent or a vapor phase thereof is disclosed. The solvent control arrangement comprises a tank or box having an open end extending downwardly into the vapor zone in an exit area of the degreaser/defluxer to define a flash drying chamber above and in communication with the vapor zone. The solvent covered parts are directed into the flash drying chamber from the vapor zone where heat is applied to heat the air in the flash drying chamber to a temperature above the solvent boiling point to thereby evaporate liquid solvent on the parts. The parts are then returned from the chamber into the vapor zone where they ultimately exit the degreaser/defluxer from the exit end. Optionally, condensing coils may be disposed in the chamber at the vapor line to condense solvent in the chamber and prevent the solvent vapor zone from encroaching within the chamber. The amount of solvent within the chamber may be further controlled through an outlet duct arrangement directing solvent laden air from the chamber through dehumidifying coils, molecular sieves, carbon absorption filters or like solvent stripping mechanisms.
