Abstract:
Movable partition systems may include a chain guide structure extending along a curved path. The chain guide structure may have a specified maximum width, and may include attachment flanges that project laterally from a central beam beyond laterally outward ends of chain guide members of the chain guide structure by a specified minimum distance. Overhead support systems for movable partition systems may include such chain guide structures. Methods of forming overhead support systems and movable partition systems may include stretch forming a bent chain guide structure. Methods of installing overhead support systems and movable partition systems may include inserting fasteners at least substantially perpendicularly through attachment flanges of a chain guide structure to secure the chain guide structure to an overhead structure.
Abstract:
Disclosed are alternate embodiments of various components of a barrier operator system. and methods of operation, including of the mechanical drive subsystem with segmented and self-locking rail unit, rail mounting supports, belt and chain drive tensioning, and drive assembly carriage and interface; the electronics and software routines for controlled operation of the various barrier operator functions; wall console communications with the barrier operator; encryption and decryption of access codes; establishment and monitoring of travel limits and barrier speed and force profiles; thermal protection of barrier operator drive motors; and establishment and control of communications from the barrier operator to accessories by way of a wireless adapter.
Abstract:
A retrofit conversion kit for converting a generally moisture intolerant door operating apparatus from overhead use to underground use and for operating a swinging door while protecting the door apparatus against moisture and dust encroachment within its underground location. The kit includes an enclosure to be mounted in a sub-floor stratum beneath a swinging door, with all of the door operating and controlling apparatus, whether electronic or mechanical, being self-contained within the enclosure. A seal arrangement provides the contamination encroachment protection while permitting access to the self-contained operating apparatus within the enclosure while the door remains in place.
Abstract:
A drive chain for a window or skylight operator. The chain is configured to define a rigid predetermined shape when flexed in a first direction, while still enabling the chain to be coiled for storage in a housing when flexed in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
Standard ground track slide gates roll along a piece of inverted angle iron fastened to the ground the entire length of travel from the fully open to the fully closed position. Typically this is accomplished by a stationary post set on either side of the gate with rollers attached to where the top horizontal frame member passes. With this arrangement of rollers, a situation exists in which there is a heavy steel gate panel moving past two stationary posts. This can be a potentially dangerous situation since the chance of entrapment is a distinct possibility. The present invention describes a method of assembly by someone not necessarily skilled in the art and is intended to solve the problems associated with these safety issues as well as provide the possibility of a more decorative sliding gate
Abstract:
The invention relates to a drive device, particularly for doors, garage doors, etc., comprising a guide device, particularly a rail or guide rail, extending in movement direction of the door. The invention is characterised in that the feed means comprises a first insert body which can be plugged at the ends of the guide rail into this and is provided with a connecting cable and which is held at the guide rail end and constructed in such a manner that it fulfils its function not only at one end of the guide rail, but also at the other end of the guide rail.
Abstract:
A self adjusting chain adjustment trolley comprising a stabilizer bar trolley assembly affixed to a chain tensioner assembly for translationally engaging a track, the stabilizer bar trolley assembly having a chain second end attachment point for engaging a chain second end; a sliding door attachment point affixed to the chain tensioner assembly for engaging a sliding door; and a track engagement assembly affixed to the chain tensioner assembly for translationally engaging the track. The chain tensioner assembly comprises a movable chain first end attachment point for engaging a chain first end and a force applicator attached thereto, such that the force applicator applies a predetermined amount of force to the movable chain first end attachment point to create a predetermined tension on the chain.
Abstract:
The invention is a system for gearless operation of a movable barrier utilizing Lorentz forces, and in particular, a movable barrier operator retrofitted with a gearless motor capable of high torque at very low speeds. Eliminating a gear system in accordance with the present invention lowers maintenance requirements, increases efficiency, and streamlines operation of any movable barrier. By utilizing a motor which produces high-torque at low a speeds a system in accordance with the present invention does away with the need for complicated gears and pulley systems in order to achieve control of movable barriers. The present invention allows manufacturers, distributors and consumers to implement movable barrier systems with much more versatility and efficiency.
Abstract:
A folding leaf gate comprising a post hung section hingedly attachable to a gate post and at least one leaf hung section hingedly connected in series with the post hung section by means of one or more section hinges, wherein the folding leaf gate additionally includes a rotating device associated with the or each leaf hung section and sharing a common axis of rotation with the or each section hinge and secured in a static relationship to a leaf hung section whereby rotation of the or each rotating device causes rotation of a leaf hung section about the or each section hinge, and one or more translating devices engaging the or each rotating devices, the one or more translating device being configured, when in use, to translate rotational motion of the post hung section about a gate post to rotation of the one or more rotating devices whereby simultaneously to open a gateway closed by the folding leaf gate and fold the folding leaf gate in two or more.
Abstract:
A retrofit conversion kit for facilitating the conversion of a door operating apparatus conventionally mounted above the door, to a position mounted and anchored underground for operating a swinging door therefrom. The conversion to an anchored underground position is facilitated by incorporating positional adjustment mechanisms covering any or all possible adjustment dimensions.
