Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention presents a system and method of economic analysis and prediction which dynamically adapts to a changing economic environment by selecting or synthesizing an economic model from a set of economic models based on the selected model's ability to make accurate predictions about an actual economic market. Specifically, the method and system of the present invention forms a space of different economic models (105), forms a behavorial landscape by extracting observables from executions of the economic models (120), and performs model selection and composite model synthesis through optimization (130) over the behavioral landscape.
Abstract:
An injection molded reinforced structure (20) is prepared by providing an injection mold (40) having an injection molding cavity (42), and preparing a freestanding injection-mold insert (60) conforming to at least a portion of the shape of the injection molding cavity (42). The insert (60) preferably is formed of reinforcing fibers embedded in an insert thermoplastic resin matrix. The insert (60) is placed into the injection molding cavity (42), and an injection thermoplastic resin is injected into the injection molding cavity (42) and thence around the insert (60), thereby forming the injection molded reinforced composite structure (20).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel truncated form of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) which specifically antagonizes the activity of HGF and to a novel truncated form of HGF that is a partial HGF agonist. In particular, the present invention relates to the purification, molecular cloning, recombinant expression of the truncated HGF variants and related pharmaceutical compositions. The present invention further relates to the utilization of the small HGF variants to either inhibit HGF mitogenesis or stimulate HGF mitogenesis in cells expressing the receptor for HGF.
Abstract:
Discoveries are disclosed that show particular aspects or recombinant DNA technology can be used successfully to produce hitherto unknown human keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) protein free of other polypeptides. These proteins can be produced in various functional forms from spontaneously secreting cells or from DNA segments introduced into cells. These forms variously enable biochemical and functional studies of this novel protein as well as production of antibodies. Means are described for determining the level of expression of genes for the KGF protein, for example, by measuring mRNA levels in cells or by measuring antigen secreted in extracellular or body fluids.
Abstract:
A method of facilitating zero sign-on access to media services depending on trust credentials. The trust credentials may be cookies, certificates, and other data sets operable to be stored on a device used to access the media services such that information included therein may be used to control the zero sign-on capabilities of the user device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for searching a document corpus and generating search queries are disclosed. A method includes providing for display a graphical user interface having two or more sections, and providing for generation of an initial search query based on locations of query terms entered into the graphical user interface. Sections of the graphical user interface indicate a query status. A revised search query based on a location of the query terms within the graphical user interface is generated following the manipulation of one or more of the query terms. Movement of a selected query term from a first section to a second section of the graphical user interface changes the query status of the selected query term from a first query status to a second query status. A search of the database is performed using the revised search query to return an updated set of electronic documents for display.

Abstract:
A cam assembly is provided for adjustment of a drill feed guide wear pad. The cam assembly has an eccentric bushing with a shank portion extending circumferentially about a first axis and defining a bore along a second axis. The second axis is generally parallel and offset from the first axis. The bushing has a head portion extending from the eccentric bushing portion, with the bore extending though the head portion. The bushing is sized for insertion into an aperture of a drill feed guide wear pad, and is rotatable causing the shank portion to engage the aperture of the wear pad to provide a camming action to position the wear pad relative to a drill feed guide. The head portion is shaped to interact with a tool for rotating the bushing.
Abstract:
An articulated pre-skimmer mount for a pre-skimmer associated with a drill bit feed unit comprises a feed mounting arm mounted to the drill bit feed unit. A first end is configured for attachment to the drill feed unit and a second end includes a cylindrical mounting shaft and an axial positioning plate. An intermediate arm has a first end comprising a cylindrical sleeve mounted thereto. The cylindrical sleeve has an inner cylindrical opening configured for sliding engagement with the cylindrical mounting shaft and a mating plate configured for locking, face-to-face engagement with the axial positioning plate. A second end comprises a pre-skimmer mounting assembly configured for attachment to the pre-skimmer, wherein an axial positioning plate and a mating plate are operable to disengage, for rotation of the intermediate arm about an axis of the feed mounting arm for alignment of the pre-skimmer.
