Abstract: Disclosed is a coating material comprising 100 parts by mass of an acid-modified polypropylene (A) and at least 450 parts by mass of organic solvents (B), wherein the acid-modified polypropylene has a melting point of 90° C. or lower and the organic solvents (B) comprises 80-99 mass % aromatic hydrocarbon solvent (B1) and 20-1 mass % one or more solvents (B2) selected from the group consisting of ester-based solvents, ketone-based solvents, and alcohol-based solvents, the sum of the proportion of the ingredient (B1) and the proportion of the ingredient (B2) being 100 mass %. The coating material may further contain a compound (C) having, in the molecule, two or more functional groups capable of forming a chemical bond with a carboxyl group, in an amount of 0.1-20 parts by mass. The compound (C) having, in the molecule, two or more functional groups capable of forming a chemical bond with a carboxyl group may be one having no hydrolyzable group. Also disclosed are: a coating film formed from the coating material; a layered product comprising the coating film and a substrate film; and a flexible flat cable including the layered product.

A wave-absorbing impregnation glue liquid, a wave-absorbing honeycomb and their preparation methods are further provided.

Abstract: A method of coating a membrane having a first side and an opposite second side and carried with its second side adhering to a backer film is provided. The method includes coating the first side of the membrane with a catalyst ink or slurry with the second side adhering to the backer film and curing the coating on the first side. The backer film is then removed to expose the second side of the membrane which is fed onto a vacuum conveyor with the coated first side facing the conveyor. The second side of the membrane is then coated with a catalyst ink or slurry and the coating on the second side cured after which the membrane is removed from the vacuum conveyor.

Abstract: Articles having crosslinked poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and silica nanoparticle multilayer coatings are provided. More specifically, articles including a substrate, and a multilayer coating attached to the substrate are provided. The multilayer coating includes a first crosslinked poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) layer and a first silica layer. The first crosslinked PVA layer is an outermost layer of the multilayer coating. The first silica layer comprises a plurality of acid-sintered interconnected silica nanoparticles arranged to form a continuous three-dimensional porous network. The PVA and silica nanoparticle multilayer coatings can be used on a large variety of substrates and tend to be resistant to wet and dry abrasions, scratches, and impacts.

Abstract: Tubular ceramic structures, e.g., anode components of tubular fuel cells, are manufactured by applying ceramic-forming composition to the external surface of the heat shrinkable polymeric tubular mandrel component of a rotating mandrel-spindle assembly, removing the spindle from the assembly after a predetermined thickness of tubular ceramic structure has been built up on the mandrel and thereafter heat shrinking the mandrel to cause the mandrel to separate from the tubular ceramic structure.
