Abstract: Electronic telecommunication articles are described comprising a crosslinked fluoropolymer layer comprising fluoropolymer particles having a particle size of greater than 1 micron. In typical embodiments, the crosslinked fluoropolymer layer is a in substrate, patterned (e.g. photoresist) layer, insulating layer, passivation layer, cladding, protective layer, or a combination thereof. Also describes are methods of making an electronic telecommunications article and method of forming a patterned fluoropolymer layer. The fluoropolymer preferably comprises at least 80, 85, or 90% by weight of polymerized units of perfluorinated monomers and cure sites selected from nitrile, iodine, bromine, and chlorine. Illustrative electronic communication articles include integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, antennas, and optical fiber cables. Fluoropolymer compositions are also described.

Abstract: Pressure sensitive adhesives are provided comprising an adhesive copolymer which is a copolymer of a set of monomers comprising: a) 41.0-49.0 weight percent of isobornyl acrylate (IBOA); b) 0.0-4.5 weight percent of one or more basic-functional polar monomers comprising a polymerizable double bond; and c) 46.5-58.9 weight percent of one or more alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, where the alkyl groups are selected from linear and branched alkyl groups comprising 2-12 carbon atoms and branched alkyl groups comprising 13-20 carbon atoms and wherein weight percentages are weight percent of all monofunctional monomers comprising the adhesive copolymer. In another aspect, the present disclosure provides tapes comprising the pressure sensitive adhesive according to the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the tapes are flexographic plate mounting tapes.

Abstract: A method of disinfecting a medical device comprises three steps. First, a disinfectant is contacted with a process indicator and the medical device. The disinfectant comprises at least one aldehyde. The process indicator contains a synthetic amine-containing compound disposed on a substrate. The synthetic amine-containing compound comprises at least one of primary amino groups or secondary amino groups, and is reactive with the disinfectant to form at least one adduct. The synthetic amine-containing compound and the medical device are in fluid communication through the disinfectant. A predetermined disinfectant exposure criterion exists for contacting the disinfectant with the medical device. Second, the process indicator is spectrally observed and at least one parameter is obtained therefrom that is predictive of the predetermined disinfectant exposure criterion. The third step is determining that the predetermined disinfectant exposure criterion has been achieved.

Abstract: A composition having pH of 5 or less comprises composite particles dispersed in an aqueous continuous liquid phase. Each composite particle comprises a polymer core surrounded by a silicaceous shell. From 3 to 50 percent of silicon atoms in the silicaceous shells are bonded to respective organic groups via a silicon-carbon covalent bond. The weight ratio of the total amount of the silica in the composition to the total amount of the at least one polymer is from 0.1 to 19. The composition is useful for making various articles. A method for making the composition is also disclosed. Silicaceous particles dispersed in an aqueous phase, wherein from 3 to 50 percent of silicon atoms in the silicaceous particles are bonded to organic groups via a silicon-carbon covalent bond are also disclosed.
