Abstract:
An actuator for a switchgear is disclosed, which can include a core having a package of core element layers made of magnetic material, and permanent magnets between the core elements, fixed with screws with screwheads. A movable plate is configured to open or close a magnetic circuit to the core, and an electromagnetic coil is surrounded by the core elements. To avoid mechanical infringement of the environment of the actuator by prominent screwheads, without weakening the magnetic force, screws for mechanical connection of the core element layers and the permanent magnets can be oriented perpendicular to the plane of stacking of the core element layers, and screw-holes for the screws can be implemented through the core element layers and the permanent magnets, and the screw-holes can end in diameter extended openings, so that the screwheads and/or the screwnuts are recessed into the diameter extended openings.

An exemplary energy supply device for explosion-proof electronic functional units includes a plurality of inductors. The functional units are supplied from a high-frequency AC voltage that is individually output for each of the functional units via an inductor. In order to supply a multiplicity of functional units with little effort, the multi-level printed circuit board of each inductor is at least partially covered with a flat board of a magnetic material parallel to the plane of its conductor tracks.

An exemplary power semiconductor clamping stack includes a plurality of power semiconductor components that are arranged in a row along the stacking direction, and a first and second end plate. The row of power semiconductor components is arranged between the first and second end plate and a clamping force is applied to the first and second end plate in order to tension the row of power semiconductor components between the first and second end plate. A clamping force measuring device is arranged between the first end plate and the row of power semiconductor components in order to adjust the clamping force.
Abstract:
An exemplary converter circuit has a converter unit with plural actuatable power semiconductor switches, and the DC voltage side of which is connected to a capacitive energy storage circuit. The capacitive energy storage circuit has at least one capacitive energy store and at least one snubber network for limiting the rate of current or voltage rise on the actuatable power semiconductor switches of the converter unit. In order to reduce undesirable oscillations in an overcurrent in the capacitive energy storage circuit, the capacitive energy storage circuit has at least one passive nonactuatable damping unit having a unidirectional current-flow direction, where the passive nonactuatable damping unit has a diode and a damping resistor.

A method of inspecting equipment of a power system can involve identifying a geographical area including a presumed faulty piece of equipment with a central computer system of the power system; determining a contact (e.g., a person) at the geographical area; sending a request for inspecting local equipment in the geographical area to the person; taking a picture, by the person, of a piece of local equipment; transmitting the picture to the central computer system; and evaluating at the central computer system, whether the piece of local equipment in the picture is faulty or not.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for providing protection of DC building electrical systems are disclosed. According to one aspect, a system for over-current protection of direct current (DC) building electrical systems includes a DC bus for providing DC power to a building and multiple DC feeder conductors for providing DC power to multiple locations within the building. Each DC feeder conductor is connected to the DC bus via a DC protection module having a fuse, a normally closed switch connected in parallel with the fuse, and a circuit breaker connected in series with the fuse and switch, where the switch is controllable to be closed to protect the fuse against transient current conditions and controllable to be open after the transient current conditions have subsided to allow the fuse to operate normally.
