Abstract:
To respond to a call from a client to an organization, the call is directed to a lower-level agent associated with the organization for answering thereby. The lower-level agent employs a computing system of the organization, where the computing system includes an actuation device for initiating contact with a higher-level agent of the organization if it is determined that the calling client is calling regarding a matter worthy of escalation from the lower-level agent to the higher-level agent. A selection from the lower-level agent is received during the call of the actuation device to escalate the call from the lower-level agent to the higher-level agent, and in response to the received selection of the actuation device the call is escalated from the lower-level agent to the higher level agent.
Abstract:
An application instantiated on a computing device of a professional receives transmitted information on an incoming call from a client and displays same, including an identifier of the client by which the professional can place a return call thereto. Upon the professional selecting the identifier of the client, the application presents a number of options for an identifier of the professional to be provided with the return call, receives a selection of one of the options, places the return call from the professional to the client, and in doing so provides the selected identifier of the professional. The provided identifier of the professional represents a favored location at which the professional or an associate may be reached. The client may ascertain the provided identifier from the return call and employ same to place a future call toward the professional or the associate.
Abstract:
A tip protector for a safety catheter includes an outer member releasably engaged with the interior cavity of the catheter hub. The outer member includes a generally fixed radially outwardly projecting portion to provide a holding force, and an inner member axially shiftably received within the outer member. A needle cannula received in the inner and outer members is operable to axially shift the inner member between a distal position wherein the distal tip extends distally of the tip protector, and a proximal position wherein the distal tip is within the outer member. The holding force of the outer member to the interior wall of the catheter hub remains substantially constant irrespective of the position of the inner member between the distal and proximal positions.
Abstract:
Embodiments relate generally to drug delivery infusion profiles that can be transferred and executed on infusion pumps without the need for loading new firmware. Particularly, embodiments relate to integrating and/or editing delivery profiles for execution infusion systems. Such systems can include target-controlled infusion systems. Advantages of such embodiments include enabling healthcare providers and medical device companies to respond quickly to changes in infusion pump technology, drug development, and pharmacokinetics by providing the ability to create, edit, integrate, and store delivery profiles to accommodate these changes.
Abstract:
A clam shell shaped adapter for connecting a fluid output device and a fluid input device to establish a fluid path between the fluid output and input devices has first and second shells integrally connected by a living hinge. The first shell has a connector fitting end and a catheter end connected by a tubing. The fluid output device may be a catheter that is matable to the catheter end. A retainer structure in the adapter fixedly retains the catheter when the first and second shells close upon each other. Respective latch mechanisms provided at the first and second shells lockingly couple the first and second shells to each other. The fitting end has a given configuration that prevents the fitting end from mating with a counterpart conventional luer fitting but enables the fitting end to mate with a counterpart connector fitting that has a special configuration that mirrors the given configuration.
Abstract:
A needle guard clip assembly has a clip and a spring, the clip having a first wall with a needle passage therethrough, a generally parallel second wall, a strut connecting the two walls, and a heel extending from the first wall. The walls, strut, and heel are an integral piece. The spring is associated with and extends from the first wall.
Abstract:
A medication safety device and method can include an infusion pump and a drug library in communication with the infusion pump. The drug library can have upper hard and soft limits and lower hard and soft limits associated with at least one drug. A graphical user interface can display a bar chart showing upper and lower soft limit bars for the at least one drug. The upper and lower soft limit bars can be grabbed and dragged on the graphical user interface in touch screen fashion to new positions associated with new upper and lower soft limits. The graphical user interface and associated hardware and software can be configurable to responsively reanalyze data and compare a particular infusion to the new upper and lower soft limits.
Abstract:
A device for syringe characterization can include a syringe pump with a plunger driver, for a syringe configured to contain can a fluid, wherein the syringe includes a barrel and a plunger. The barrel and the plunger therewithin together define a central longitudinal axis of the syringe. The device can also include a barrel outer diameter sensor, and a linear position sensor in a substantially parallel orientation with the central longitudinal axis of the syringe when the syringe is installed in the syringe pump. At least one moveable marker can be in communication with the linear potentiometer, being capable of indicating a location along the linear potentiometer corresponding to a selected location on the barrel of the syringe when the syringe is installed in the syringe pump. The device can further include software for performing calculations that are indicative of syringe characterization, with respect to locations of selected ones of the at least one moveable marker and a diameter of the barrel that is sensed by the barrel outer diameter sensor.
Abstract:
A medical infusion pump pressure plate alignment system and components that include a chassis, a sensor module, and a pressure plate in various embodiments. The pressure plate has a first end pivotally mounted to the chassis of the control module for pivotal retention and a second end selectively mounted to chassis of the control module. The pressure plate, hooks or rail contain recessed or projection features configured for receipt of the complementary features of the sensor module. Additional alignment features can include a retaining component incorporated with the hook, a guide feature on the outer surface of the pressure plate, and a kickstand feature attached to the rail.
Abstract:
A drug or fluid delivery device includes a pump having a control module. A cassette is removably mounted to the control module. A reservoir is contained within the cassette, and contains a fluid to be delivered to a patient. A protrusion extends from an interior surface of the cassette, creating and maintaining a crease in the reservoir as the fluid is emptied therefrom, thereby creating a fluid path along which the fluid travels to reduce occurrences of the reservoir deleteriously sealing off pockets of fluid as the reservoir is emptied.
