Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods and kits for the determining the presence or absence of ergot alkaloids in sample which use chromatographic instrumentation and columns operating at a pressure of 4,000 to 15,000 psi and columns with 1 - 3 micron particle size to produce results by mass spectroscopy in approximately four minutes.
Abstract:
Pharmaceutical formulations suitable for iontophoresis thereof that provide enhanced iontophoretic delivery of gallium to at least one body surface are described and methods for administering gallium to a body surface via iontophoresis. In one embodiment, the body surface is human skin.
Abstract:
A method of automatically sending an alert message when the status of one or more documents has changed is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a computer system, instructions from a user to monitor the status of a first type of information for a first selected document. The method further includes monitoring, by the computer system, the status of the first type of information for the first selected document. The method also includes, when the status of the first type of information for the first selected document has changed, sending, by the computer system, an alert message to the user to indicate that the status of the document has changed.
Abstract:
A treatment simulator for providing information on physiological states and effects of treatment of neurological disease, comprising a computer, and an application configured to operate with the computer. The application is capable of: obtaining radiological imaging from the brain; obtaining anatomical information from the radiological imaging within a region of interest within the brain; constructing a physiological states model which assesses physiological states of the region of interest; locating sources of interstitial flow of particulate matter and obtaining fluid conductivities of paths of the interstitial flow utilizing the anatomical information and the physiological states model; and creating a flow model of the particulate matter which assesses velocities of flow and interstitial pressure variations utilizing the sources of interstitial flow and the fluid conductivities.

Abstract:
This invention concerns compositions for the treatment of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS), and especially LUTS which results from benign prostatic hypertrophy. The compositions of the invention comprise a Beta-3 agonist described below, optionally in combination with a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, or an NK-1 antagonist or an alpha-1 adrenergic antagonist or an anti-muscarinic agent. The invention also includes compositions comprising a beta-3 agonist and two additional active agents selected from a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, an NK-1 antagonist, an alpha-1 adrenergic antagonist or an anti-muscarinic agent.
Abstract:
A method of printing on an optical disc (110) using a printing device (300) including automated detection of the optical disc (110), the method includes, with a sensor (200) of the printing device (300), optically detecting the optical disc (110) to determine whether the optical disc (110) is installed properly for printing in a carrier (100) that is inserted into the printing device (300). A system for printing on an optical disc (110), the system includes a printing device (300); a carrier (100) configured to hold the optical disc (110) while the printing device (300) prints on the disc (110); and a sensor (200) of the printing device (300) configured to optically detect whether the optical disc (110) is installed in the carrier (100) properly for printing.
Abstract:
A method comprising receiving at least one document that is associated with a life insurance policy; assigning a respective value to each of the at least one document, in which the value indicates a level of importance; determining a summation of the at least one document; determining an indication for the life insurance policy, in which the indication is based on the summation of the at least one document and at least one of the values; and displaying the indication.
