Abstract:
Flame retardant molding compositions that are substantially free of halogen, phosphorus, and antimony are disclosed. Also disclosed are the use of these flame retardant molding compositions to coat electronic devices such as integrated circuits.
Abstract:
A polyvinyl butyral composition is disclosed which is comprised of polyvinyl butyral resin containing an IR absorbing effective amount of lanthanum hexaboride or a mixture of lanthanum hexaboride and at least one of tin oxide and antimony tin oxide. Also disclosed are a sheet of the IR absorbing polyvinyl butyral and a glass laminate having the IR absorbing polyvinyl butyral sheet disposed between two sheets of glass.
Abstract:
A flame retardant mesh sheet and multifilament fiber which do not generate halogen gas at the time of combustion and a flameproof mesh sheet comprising the same. A flame retardant for the mesh sheet and multifilament fiber includes 1,5 to 15 wt% of red phosphorus and 10 to 70 parts by weight of an ammonium polyphosphate compound based on 100 parts by weight of the solid content of an aqueous solution of a polyolefin resin having a resin solid content of 20 to 45 wt%.
Abstract:
A mixture of a first aluminum hydroxide surface treated with a silicon-containing compound and having a mean particle size of 5-20 &mgr;m and a second aluminum hydroxide surface treated with a silicon-containing compound and having a mean particle size of 0.1-2.5 &mgr;m is blended in a silicone rubber composition comprising an organopolysiloxane, finely divided silica, and an organic peroxide. The silicone rubber composition cures into silicone rubber having sufficiently improved properties to serve as high-voltage electrical insulators, even when exposed to air polluted conditions or rigorous weather conditions.
Abstract:
Multilayer interference pigments consisting of a transparent carrier material coated with alternating layers of metal oxides of low and high refractive index, the layers of the metal oxides of low refractive index being optically inactive. The thickness of the metal oxide layers of high refractive index is an integral multiple of the optical thickness which is necessary for the desired interference color. The layer thickness of metal oxide layers of low refractive index is from 1 to 20 nm.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions based on elastomeric polymers of vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropene and optionally tetrafluoroethylene suitable for providing microcellular foamed vulcanized articles by extrusion or compression molding. In the case of the production of extruded articles based on vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropene copolymers, the compositions comprise: the copolymer, bisphenol AF, a quaternary phosphonium or aminophosphonium salt, azodicarbonamide, MgO, Ca(OH).sub.2, zinc stearate and a plasticizer, each of the components being contained in an exactly defined proportion.
Abstract:
A composite material comprising a resin other than polyamide resin and a layered silicate dispersed therein, said layered silicate having a layer thickness of 7 to 12 .ANG. and an interlayer distance of 30 .ANG. or above. Owing to the layered silicate uniformly dispersed in the resin matrix, the composite material is superior in mechanical characteristics and heat resistance. It also has good water resistance and chemical resistance.
Abstract:
A bimetallic adhesive for surface bonding and for controlled release applications that is non-explosive and which also provides improved shock, moisture, temperature and spark resistance characteristics. The bimetallic adhesive comprises a resinous adhesive binder and a bimetallic mixture, which consists of boron and titanium powders. The bimetallic adhesive mixture provides a controlled release function to separate a bonded surface when heated to a temperature above 600.degree. C., thereby causing the mixture to react exothermically to effect complete deflagration of the mixture.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a plastisol composition comprising polyvinyl chloride and a mixture of various plasticizers, and to the use thereof as an underbody coating and for scaling seams.
Abstract:
A multi-layer device and its method of manufacture are disclosed. The multi-layer device comprises a first electrode layer, a first repair layer, a functional layer, and a second electrode layer. The first repair layer comprises a conductive hydrogel film or conductive hydrogel beads, the conductive hydrogel film or the conductive hydrogel beads comprising conductive filler particles dispersed in a cross-linked polymer. The repair layer protects the multi-layer device from electrical short circuits. A multi-layer device is also disclosed including a light-transmissive electrode layer comprising a porous mesh or porous spheres.
