Abstract:
An aqueous lubricant used for plastic working of metallic material which comprises (A) a water soluble inorganic salt, (B) lubricative agent selected from molybdenum disulfide and graphite and (C) wax, wherein the components are dissolved or dispersed in water, and wherein a concentration ratio (weight ratio) of (B) /(A) is in the range of 1.0 SIMILAR 5.0 and (C) / (A) is 0.1 SIMILAR 1. 0. And a method of lubricative film processing on a metallic material, in that the lubricative film formed by applying the aqueous lubricant is in a dried weight of 0.5 SIMILAR 40g/m . A water soluble inorganic salt (A) is preferably selected from the group consisting of a sulfate, a silicate, a borate, a molybdete and a tungstate. The wax (C) is preferably a natural wax or a synthetic wax which is dispersed in water and has a melting point of 70 SIMILAR 150 DEG C. The aqueous lubricant can be used for imparting excellent lubricity with ease to the surface of a metal having no chemical conversion layer formed thereon.
Abstract:
A stainless steel wire is plated with nickel (Ni) to a thickness of from not less than 1 µm to not more than 5 µm. An inorganic salt coat film mainly composed of at least one of potassium sulfate and borax (borate) and free from fluorine (F) or chlorine (Cl) is then deposited on the nickel (Ni) plate 2 as the substrate. The steel wire is then drawn to a reduction of area of not less than 60% to adjust the surface roughness thereof to a range of from 0.80 to 12.5 µmRz, preferably from 1.0 to 10.0 µmRz.
Abstract:
The present invention provides lubricant compositions for the powder metallurgical field. The lubricant compositions contain a solid phase lubricant such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide, and polytetrafluoroethylene in combination with a liquid phase lubricant that is a binder for the solid phase lubricant. The binder can be chosen from various classes of compounds including polyethylene glycols, polyethylene glycol esters, partial esters of C3-6 polyhydric alcohols, polyvinyl esters, and polyvinyl pyrrolidones. The binder is solubilized in an organic solvent.
Abstract:
A lubricant for use in hot rolling of high chromium stainless steel, the lubricant being continuously supplied to surfaces of hot rolling rolls in contact with the steel being rolled at least during hot rolling of the stainless steel, which lubricant comprises a viscous aqueous solution of water soluble high molecular weight thickener and from 10 to 40% by weight of iron hydroxide powder dispersed in the aqueous solution, said iron hydroxide powder having a median particle size of from not less than 0.1 µm to less than 1 µm and said lubricant having an apparent viscosity within the range of from 1,000 to 50,000 cP.
Abstract:
A recirculating powder lubricant delivery system having improved oxidative stability and a lubricant therefor where the lubricant is a solid lubricant selected from a group of molybdenum disulfide, graphite and graphite fluoride, and wherein the solid lubricant is microencapsulated from an aqueous suspension of an alkali metal silicate containing a water soluble phosphate.
Abstract:
A surface-coated rubber or plastic sliding member having a coating with excellent durability and high slipperiness, wherein the coating comprises a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide, a resin matrix and a reinforcement, said resin matrix comprising a fluoroolefin vinyl ether polymer resin and/or a fluoroolefin vinyl ether/vinyl ester copolymer resin.
Abstract:
A novel lubricant composition which processes high and positive friction characteristics and comprises (a) at least 20 % by weight of a polymer medium; (b) at least 5 % by weight of a solid lubricant; and (c) at least 5 % by weight of a powderized solid mineral friction modifier.
