Abstract:
Under a method to control a sliding speed in accordance with this invention, the motor is initially accelerated for a predetermined reference speed, and then during the initial acceleration period, if a rotational speed of the wire drum is of and above a given value, a difference between a rotational speed of the wire drum and a rotational speed of the motor is of and above a given value, and a rate of acceleration of the wire drum is of and above a given value, the rotational speed of the motor is reduced temporarily judging the slide door is in a state of abnormal acceleration, and then the motor is accelerated again at a lower rate than the initial acceleration toward the reference speed.
Abstract:
A drive mechanism is provided for a door operator, comprising a drive member and a driven member. The drive member includes a protrusion, the edges of the protrusion forming first and second driving surfaces which define a free space of at least about 90° there between. The driven member includes a protrusion, the sides of the protrusion form a first and a second driven surface, respectively. The drive member is adapted to be operably connected to between a motor assembly for rotating the drive member and a door closer assembly rotating with the driven member. The drive member and the driven member are disposed for relative rotation in substantially the same plane such that the driven member protrusion moves in the free space defined by the driving surfaces of the drive member protrusion. Rotation of the drive member from a first angular orientation to a second angular orientation in a direction toward an adjacent driven surface causes rotation of the driven member for powered opening of the door from the closed position to the open position. The driven member protrusion moves in the free space without engaging the protrusion surfaces when the door is opened manually from the closed position and allowed to close.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a method of motorized movement of a vehicle door, wherein the vehicle door can be moved from an open position to a closed position as part of a closing process, wherein a door drive mechanism associated with the vehicle door and a control system are provided, wherein the vehicle door can be moved in the direction of closing starting from the open position using the door drive mechanism. It is proposed that in a first section of the closing process the vehicle door is moved by the door drive mechanism from the open position to a comfortable open position that lies between the open position and the closed position, and that in a second section of the closing process, the vehicle door is further moved from the comfortable open position in the direction of closing, preferably to the closed position, manually by the user and largely free of the door drive mechanism.
Abstract:
An automatic door opener (10) for opening or closing a door (28) includes a motor (14) driving a drive shaft (50) and an opener arm (18) connected to the door (28) and being responsive to rotation of the drive shaft (50) for moving the door (28) to an open or closed position. A clutch (46) operable to disengage the drive shaft (50) from the opener arm (18) is provided in the event of the door (28) engaging an obstacle, electric power being unavailable, or the door being fully open or fully closed. The door opener (10) may also include a brake (48) for selectively preventing movement of the door (28). Various embodiments of the invention are provided, including an electromagnet (80) and an electromagnetic brake (114).
Abstract:
A case is mounted to one of a motor vehicle and a pivotal door and has therein a gear receiving space. An electric motor is mounted to the case. A speed reduction mechanism is installed in the gear receiving space of the case and driven by the electric motor. An output gear is rotatably received in the gear receiving space of the case and driven by the speed reduction mechanism. An output arm is placed above the case and connected to the output gear through an output shaft that passes through an upper wall portion of the case. A connecting rod has one end pivotally connected to the output arm and the other end pivotally connected to the other of the motor vehicle and the pivotal door. The connecting rod is arranged beside the case in a manner to avoid overlapping thereof with the case in a direction that is perpendicular to a direction in which the connecting rod is moved by the output arm.
Abstract:
A service window assembly includes a window frame and a door slidably mounted within the frame. The door is moveable between an open position and a closed position and is biased toward the closed position. A magnet is connected to one of the frame and the door and is operable in an active state and an inactive state, and a magnetic contact is connected to the other of the frame and the door. The magnetic contact is located proximate the magnet when the door is in the open position, and when the magnet is in the active state, the magnet and the magnetic contact form a magnetic connection, securing the door in the open position. A sensor monitors the presence of a user. The sensor is in communication with the magnet, so that the magnet is in the active state when the sensor detects that the user is present, and the magnet is in the inactive state when the sensor detects that the user is not present.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlled braking of an electrically powered lifting action in the event of a failure, such that at least one of the nominal values for “rotational direction” and/or “operating speed” and/or “door position” and/or “motor capacity” and/or “motor current” is ascertained and compared with an actual value, and such that a motorized braking process or motorized stopping process is triggered by a departure of the actual value from the nominal value that lies outside a predetermined range. In addition the invention relates to a device for applying said method.
Abstract:
A door actuating system has a fractional horsepower motor mounted on the door adjacent its free edge, driving a clutch connected to a duplex capstan pulley that is wrapped by two tensioned flexible static lines, for opening/closing movement ‘along the line’. The motor also drives a gear that engages a rack projecting from the door frame, to displace the door relative to its frame. Rotation of the gear is read by a rotary encoder, which feeds a microprocessor, to continuously monitor the location, speed and direction of motion of the door, for both the ‘on’ and the ‘off’ condition of the electric motor. A latching clip over-rides action of the original door latch.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electomagnetic frictionally engaged clutch (1) provided with a rotor part (4) comprising a friction lining (2). An electrical coil (6) and a first permanent magnet (14) are arranged on the rotor part (4). Said clutch also comprises an armature disk (10) which is connected to a second shaft (9) and can be displaced in a rotationally fixed manner, but axially from a coupled end position to an uncoupled end position. The aim of the invention is to enahle the coil (6) of the clutch (1) to be current-free both in the coupled state and in the uncoupled state. To this end, means (15; 20) are provided for exerting an axial force opposing the magnetic force of the first permanent magnet (14) on the armature disk (10). The first permanent magnet (14) and the means (15; 20) are selected in such a way that the resulting force exerted on the armature disk by the permanent magnets and the means presses the armature disk (10) against the friction lining (2) of the rotor part (4) when a current is not passing through the coil (6), when the armature disk (10) is in the coupled end position thereof and when the armature disk (10) presses against an abutment (19) at an axial distance from the friction lining (2) of the rotor part (4) when it is in the uncoupled end position thereof. The electrical coil (6) can be supplied with a coil in such a way that the magnetic field thus produced
