PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute flux-brazing without applying a flux agent before assembling by joining at least one 1st component and at least one 2nd component during brazing process to each other. SOLUTION: A brazing sheet is manufactured, after applying a flux 19 to a thin sheet 13, by rolling and coating with a pair of rollers 24. The brazing sheet to which the flux 19 is mechanically stuck like this is used for manufacturing a beat exchanger assembly or the like. The thin sheet 13 possesses the flux 19 on either or both of the internal surface and external surface. In forming the component of the assembly, the brazing sheet is pressed, rolled and cut and is made into a tube, header, side support, fin, or the like. At this time, because the parts have the flux 19 on its internal surface, fluxing work in an assembly shop is unneccessitated.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method of unidirectional solidification casting that produces a uniformly controlled cooling rate.SOLUTION: Molten metal is injected uniformly into a mold 10 from a feed chamber 34 in a horizontal or vertical direction at a controlled rate on top of the metal already within the mold. A cooling medium is applied to the bottom surface of a base material, with the type and flow rate of the cooling medium being varied to produce a controlled cooling rate throughout the casting process. The rate of introduction of molten metal and the flow rate of the cooling medium are both controlled to produce a relatively uniform solidification rate within the mold, thereby producing a uniform microstructure throughout the casting, and low stresses throughout the casting.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more economic method of providing beverage containers having an expanded diameter portion, wherein the method is easily incorporated into an in-line process.SOLUTION: An expansion die 5 for manufacturing metal containers includes a work surface 10 including a progressively expanding portion 15 and a land portion 20; and an undercut portion 25 positioned following the land portion 20 of the work surface 10. A process for manufacturing shaped containers includes: providing a container stock having a first diameter; expanding at least a portion of the container stock to a second diameter with at least one expansion die 5; and forming an end of the container stock to accept a container lid.

SOLUTION: The mounting tool 100 of the brake drum 230 and the wheel 420 includes an elongated body and a threaded bore. The elongated body is dimensioned to be received through a stud hole 430 of the wheel. The elongated body has a first end and a second end. The first end of the body is dimensioned to apply a pressure to the brake drum when the body is threaded on a wheel stud. The second end of the body is tapered and dimensioned to accept a socket. SOLUTION: This method is constituted of the steps of: providing a nominal die profile; deciding a spring back profile on the basis of the nominal die profile; and using a compensation method in order to decide the die profile on the basis of the nominal die profile and the spring back profile. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aluminum alloy rolled thin sheet product having the combination of improved fatigue crack growing resistance, improved strength and fracture toughness and useful for the use for aerospace such as the airframe of aircraft and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy rolled thin sheet product has a microstructure specified by crystal grains having the average aspect ratio of the average length to width higher than about 4:1. By the control of the alloy composition, the limitation of the parameters in rolling and heat treatment, their combination or the like respectively as for an aluminum-copper-based alloy, an aluminum-magnesium-based alloy, an aluminum-magnesium-silicon-based alloy and an aluminum-zinc-based alloy, the prescribed aspect ratio, the microstructure having high anisotropy and improved quality characteristics are realized. More concretely, for developing a desired amount of precipitates, the composition of the alloy, the rolling method and the heat treating method are controlled.
