    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a semiconductor and a production method with which the layer of lump-shaped active materials are not used for achieving satisfactory performance as regards absolute and differentiated gains. CONSTITUTION: Optical feedback is provided by a grid 2 of passive semiconductor materials, an active medium exists only in the groove of grid 2, and the wire and barrier of quantum wire structure are formed by discontinuous layers 5 of optically active materials separated by an optically passive material layer 6. An optical confinement layer 7 is provided on the grid 2 and the multiplex quantum wire structure. Further, the production method for the semiconductor laser is provided as well.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To shift the absorption threshold of rays for irradiation to a short wavelength side when an electric field is applied by providing the layers in a structural body composed of specific layers with hole parts to allow the passage of the optical axis cast in a perpendicular direction. CONSTITUTION: The structural body is composed of a metallic layer 1 which is used as a connecting member at the time of connecting the structural body to lead wires for impression of control potential, a (p) type semiconductor layer 2, an intrinsic semiconductor layer 3, a layer 4 which constitutes a first QW, an intrinsic barrier layer 5, a second layer 6 which constitute a second QW, one or more cumulative layers which consist of intrinsic semiconductor layers 7, an (n) type semiconductor layer 8, an (n) type semiconductor layer 9 which covers a base layer 10 to be described afterward, the base layer 10 and a metallic layer 11 which is used as a connecting member at the time of connecting the second lead wires for impression of control potential to the structural body. The metallic layers 1, 11, the base layer coating layer 9 and the base layer 10 themselves have the hole parts to allow the passage of the rays cast in the direction perpendicular to the layers in the structural body. As a result, the absorption threshold of the rays for irradiation shift to the short wavelength side when the electric field is applied.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve system performance in simple constitution by performing access from an arbitrating circuit and a distributed circuit network to a common control circuit. CONSTITUTION: A bi-directional asynchronous multiplexer 1 is connected with blocks TMA in the same number for executing a high speed cell processing, with an input bus 2 of a multiple switching circuit network NWD under the control of an arbitrating circuit ARB and a first bus 7, and through a distributed circuit network DIS and a second bus 4 with an output bus 8 of a circuit network. A common control circuit CON is connected through a third bus 3 with each block TMA which performs access through first connection 5 and the arbitrating circuit ARB to the switching circuit network NWD. Then, on the contrary, the circuit network NWD performs access through the distributed circuit network DIS and second connection 6 to the common control circuit CON. Thus, system performance is improved in simple constitution.

    Abstract: The control unit detects the errors concurrently with normal microinstruction execution through suitable internal checking circuits and a determined microinstruction allocation in the memory. Microinstructions comprise additional field (CS, FS) carrying the encoding, in modified Berger code, of the allocation address of the microinstruction itself and of the following one; the microinstructions of destination itself and of the following one; the microinstructions of destination of conditional jumps are allocated so that their codes are related to each other by simple logic relationships which are then reproduced by an internal circuit (CSM); the two fields, the one of the next microinstruction being duly delayed, are then compared and possible differences detect unidirectional and incorrect sequencing errors. The other errors are detected through particular implementations of some internal circuits (STK1, INC1) and duplication of others (RCT, SEL).

    Abstract: This method provides a filtering of digital samples of speech signal by a linear-prediction inverse filter, whose coefficients are chosen out of a codebook of quantized filter coefficient vectors, obtaining a residual signal subdivided into vectors. The weighted mean-square error made in quantizing said vectors with quantized residual vectors contained in a codebook and forming excitation waveforms is computed. The coding signal for each block of samples consists of the coefficient vector index chosen for the inverse filter as well as of the indices of the vectors of the excitation waveforms which have generated minimum weighted mean-square error. During the decoding phase, a synthesis filter, having the same coefficients as chosen for the inverse filter, is excited by quantized-residual vectors chosen during the coding phase (FIGS. 1, 2).
