Abstract:
Provided are methods of treating certain skin conditions in a human in which the skin of the human in need of such treatment is contacted with an effective amount of a particular composition.
ARE DISCLOSED, WHEREIN R1, R2 and R3 are fluorinated or chlorofluorinated alkyl or ether or polyether groups. These compounds are thermally and oxidatively highly stable fluids, useful as hydraulic fluids in, e.g., aircraft.
Abstract:
A SERIES OF HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT FLUORINATED ALKYL TRISUBTITUTED TRIAZINES IS DISLCOSED. THEY ARE FLUIDS HAVING OUTSTANDING FIRE RESISTANCE, THERMAL STABILITY, LUBRICITY, AND WHICH EXHIBIT A WIDE FLUID RANGE, WHICH MAY BE VARIED DEPENDENT UPON THE NATURE OF CERTAIN DISCLOSED POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTITUENTS ON THE 2,4 AND POSITION OF THE S-TRIAZINE RING.
ARE PRODUCED BY REACTING METHYL NITRIETE AND PERFLUOROGLUTARIC ANHYDRIDE OR PERFLUOROSUCCINIC ANHYDRIDE AND THEN DECARBOXYLANTING THE RESULATNT PRODUCT. THE COMPOUNDS, WHICH CAN BE HYDROLYZED TO PRODUCE THE CORRESPONDING NITROSO-SUBSTITUTED FLUORCARBON ACIDS, ARE USED AS COMONOMERS IN NITRROSO RUBBERS.
Abstract:
A method for characterizing an oxidative stress protective capacity of an antioxidative substance includes assigning a first score indicative of an oxidative stress protective capacity of a first antioxidative substance. The first score is based on the performance of the first antioxidative substance in a first antioxidative efficacy test relative to the performance of a second antioxidative substance in the first antioxidative efficacy test.
Abstract:
A method for reducing an occurrence of hyperpigmentation in human skin includes applying to the skin a topical preparation including an amount of an agent effective to reduce an occurrence of hyperpigmentation in human skin. The agent includes idebenone or a derivative of idebenone.
