    Abstract: PURPOSE: A hinge assembly of an engine hood panel in a vehicle is provided to absorb impact transferred into an engine hood panel in an accident and to minimize damage of a pedestrian. CONSTITUTION: A hinge assembly of an engine hood panel for a vehicle comprises an assembly inserting unit(31) fixed on a side portion of a chassis panel; a bracket(30) mounted on the assembly inserting unit; a coupler(41) rotationally fixed on a side portion of an engine hood panel by being mounted on an assembly(40); a fixing pin(42) formed on a circumference face of the assembly; a cutting groove(32) installed on the assembly inserting unit; a supporting protrusions(33) formed on both sides of the cutting groove; a space unit arranged on a lower portion of the assembly; and a hinge arm(23). The hinge arm is separated by receiving impact to drop the assembly into the space unit. Thereby, the hinge assembly of the engine hood panel for the vehicle absorbs the impact transferred into the engine hood panel in an accident to minimize damage of a pedestrian.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A damping hood latch device for a vehicle is provided to reduce the severity of pedestrian injury and to solve malfunction and rising production cost issues due to the use of electronic components. CONSTITUTION: A damping hood latch device(1) for a vehicle comprises a hood latch assembly(100) and a damper assembly(200). The hood latch assembly locks a striker(3) of the hood by a latch plate(120) and fixes the hood in the closed state. The damper assembly is installed between the hood latch assembly and the vehicle body and absorbs impact through the hood in case of a pedestrian crash in the closed state of the hood. The damper assembly comprises a fixed body(210), a lifting block, a damping spring, and a locking device. The fixed body is fixed at a front end module. The lifting block is integrated with the hood latch assembly, supports the hood latch assembly, and couples with the hood latch assembly for lifting. The damping spring is installed between the fixed body and the lifting block, elastically supports the lifting block and the hood latch assembly, and absorbs impact during descending. The locking device selectively releases locking between the fixed body and the lifting block by rotating the latch plate for releasing the striker.
