    Abstract: PURPOSE: A paper feeder is provided to stably feed paper without regard to the kind and the thickness of the paper by changing the inclined angle of a paper separation guide according to the kind and the thickness of the paper. CONSTITUTION: A paper feeder of an image formation apparatus comprises a paper feeding cassette(10), a pick-up unit(20), a paper separation guide(20) and inclination controllers(40,60). Many sheets of paper are loaded in the paper feeding cassette. The pick-up unit is installed in the upper part of the paper feeding cassette. The pick-up unit contains a pick-up roller(21) to pick up and carry the paper by the friction force through the contact with the paper. The paper separation guide is installed in front of the paper feeding cassette for separating the paper by frictionally contacting to the carried paper. The inclination controllers vary the inclination for maintaining the appropriate inclined angle of the paper separation guide according to the kind and the thickness of the paper.
