Abstract:
A method for providing metadata on a part of a contents video image, a method for managing the provided metadata, and an apparatus using the methods are provided to register video tags or bookmarkers generated by users, which watch contents in an IPTV(Internet Protocol Television), in a server and use the information when other users search the contents, thereby enabling the users to share evaluation and opinions of the users for the contents and activating IPTV business. A contents server(100), a metadata management server(200), and plural terminal devices(300a,300b) are connected to a network(50). The contents server provides encoded contents to the terminal devices. The terminal devices receive video streams, decode the received video streams, and display video contents which a user wants. Users select a partial section of the video contents, a segment, while watching the video contents and records metadata on the segment. The recorded metadata is automatically transmitted to the metadata management server. The metadata management server collects the metadata and selects a part of the metadata. If there is a request of searching the video contents in a terminal device, the metadata management server provides metadata matched to a keyword included into the searching request to the terminal device. If the terminal device selects a specific segment using the provided metadata, the contents server provides the segment to the terminal device through a streaming service. The terminal device decodes the provided segment and displays the decoded segment to the user.

A macro command operation device, a macro command input device, and a method thereof are provided to drive desired functions collectively through a single remote controller and a one-click button, without the necessity of using many remote controllers or manipulating buttons of each remote controller. A macro command operation device(200) comprises a storage part(220), a creation part(240), and a driving part(260). The storage part stores control signals which are received from a control device in order to select menus of a host device. The creation part combines the received control signals into a macro command. The driving part decodes the macro command and drives functions corresponding to menus of the host device according to the combination order of the control signals contained in the macro command.

본 발명은 네트워크를 통해 연결된 복수의 디스플레이 장치를 원격지에서 제어하기 위한 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 네트워크를 통해 연결된 하나 이상의 디스플레이 장치에 대한 스케줄링 정보를 참조하여, 지정된 시간이 되면 지정된 원격 제어 명령을 지정된 디스플레이 장치로 전송하는 원격 제어 스케줄링 서버와, 원격 제어 스케줄링 서버로부터 원격 제어 명령을 수신하여 수행하는 하나 이상의 디스플레이 장치를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 상기와 같은 구성에 의해, 다수의 디스플레이 장치를 구비한 시스템에서 디스플레이 장치의 제어를 미리 스케줄링하여 자동으로 수행되도록 할 수 있으므로 각각의 장치를 제어하는데 걸리는 시간과 비용을 절약할 수 있다 네트워크, 디스플레이, 스케줄링, 원격 제어, 입력 소스

A method and a system for remotely controlling a peripheral connected to a monitor, and a recording medium thereof are provided to enable a server to remotely access the peripheral connected to the monitor in the network permitting remote connection between the monitor and server, and enable the remote server to manage/use a file system of the peripheral connected to the monitor. The monitor(201_1) is connected to at least one peripheral(202-204) and changes a file system of the peripheral if a change event for the peripheral is generated. The server(220) is remotely connected to the monitor through Ethernet(210) and manages the file system of the periodically based on received information if the information for the changed file system is received from the monitor. The server includes an Ethernet interface(311) performing remote communication with the monitor through the Ethernet, a controller(312) managing the file system based on displayed information while displaying the received file system information if the information for the file system of the peripheral is received from the Ethernet interface, and a display part(314) displaying the information for the file system by control of the controller.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for outputting contents information are provided to execute contents even after disconnection of source devices by automatically storing contents and contents information of source devices in an external storage device. An apparatus for outputting contents information comprises a detection part(210) detecting connection of source devices, a generation part, a storage part(240), an output part(250), and an update part(260). The generation part generates meta data related to the source devices. The storage part stores contents stored on the source devices and the meta data. The output part outputs the contents on a screen on the basis of the meta data. The meta data related to the source devices includes at least one of a device number, a model number, and a serial number. The update part updates the contents and the meta data.
Abstract:
A client and a system for compensating a data packet loss and a method thereof are provided to enable the client to receive compensation even though a data packet is temporarily lost, thereby preventing reproduction interruption of A/V data caused by the lost data packet. At least two clients are registered in a multicast group(41). The clients receive data packets(42). Each client decides whether data packet compensation is necessary(43). If so, the clients send compensation request packets to compensate the lost data packets(44,45). The clients realign sequence of the packets(46). One of the clients inserts the received data packets between other stored data packets by referring to continuity numbers of the packets after receiving the data packets from another client.

본 발명은 네트워크로 연결된 장치 그룹의 고장 여부를 모니터링하고 그에 대한 조치를 취하기 위한 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 네트워크상의 장치 그룹을 모니터링하는 시스템에 있어서, 장치의 고장 여부를 검사하고 검사 결과를 출력하는 하나 이상의 슬래이브 장치와, 하나 이상의 슬래이브 장치로부터 고장 검사 결과를 수신하여 사용자에게 보고하는 마스터 장치를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 상기와 같은 본 발명의 구성에 의해, 복수의 장치 그룹에서 고장이 발생한 장치를 신속히 파악할 수 있으므로 장치의 효율적인 관리가 가능하다. 마스터, 슬래이브, 모니터링, 고장, 컴포넌트.
