PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for receiving broadcast data are provided to output advertisement, thereby removing zapping phenomenon when channel converting is not determined during advertisement output. CONSTITUTION: Advertisement data provided from a first channel are output(S910). If a channel switching request of a second channel is received during the output of the advertisement data, channel conversion is determined based on information on the second channel(S920). If the channel converting is determined, the channel converting of the second channel is performed(S932). If the channel converting is not determined, the advertisement data is continually outputted without channel converting(S934).
Abstract:
A meta data providing method and apparatus, and contents authority restricting method and apparatus are provided for a service provider to allow a user to use contents only within an allowed authority range, thereby preventing the unauthorized usage of the contents of the user. A meta data server combines contents information and control information defining the authority range of a client for corresponding contents to produce meta data(542). The client analyzes control information included into meta data information to extract the authority information of the client for corresponding contents(547). The client determines whether control operation according to the input of a user is operation within a right authority range by using the extracted authority information. The client performs the operation or outputs a warning message to the user without performing the operation(548).

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus thereof for controlling various functions of a remote device through SMS are provided to control a remote device through user input by using SMS. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus divides a text for the control of a remote device into a plurality of text parts(101). The apparatus generates a plurality of SMS(Short Message Service) messages(102). A plurality of SMS messages is used as individual user data. The apparatus transmits the SMS messages to the remote device(103). The remote device includes necessary information to restore the text from the SMS message.

A method and a system for providing a service in a communication system are provided to enable one participant, who is now speaking, to yield a right of speaking in case that other participant requests a right of speaking such that a PoC(Push to talk over Cellular) server effectively manages conversations made in a PoC session. A method for providing a service in a communication system comprises the following several steps. The first terminal transmits a TB-REQ(Talk Burst Request) message to a PoC server(307). The server transmits a TB-GRNT(Talk Burst Granted) message to the first terminal in case that there is no participant having a right of speaking in a current session(309) and the first terminal obtains the right of speaking(311). If the second terminal transmits the TB-REQ message to the PoC server(313), the PoC server checks whether the second terminal supports a speaking right queueing function(315). If not in the step 315, the server transmits a TB-DNY(Talk Burst Deny) message to the second terminal(317). Then, the server transmits a TB-YLD_REQ(Talk Burst Yield Request) message to the first terminal for notifying the first terminal that there exists a participant who requests a right of speaking(321). If so in the step 315, the server transmits a TB-QS_RSP(talk burst Queue Status Response) message to the second terminal for notifying the second terminal that the TB-REQ is queued(319).

An apparatus and a method for displaying electronic program guide information and a method for generating an electronic program guide are provided to allow service providers to select a viewing recommendation program by being paid for a selection fee from a program provider. A receiving unit(310) receives program guide information including display information indicating a viewing recommendation program from a service provider system. A controller(330) stores program guide information with respect to a program indicated as a viewing recommendation program among the received program guide information in a storage unit(340), and displays the program guide information with respect to the viewing recommendation program stored in the storage unit(340). An electronic program guide information display device is a DTV(Digital TV). The display information is recorded in a certain field of a table of the received program guide information. The controller(330) recognizes the viewing recommendation program with reference to the certain field.

PURPOSE: A method of processing a public network receiving call for a busy terminal through a pMSC(private Mobile Switching Center) is provided to enable a mobile communication network to manage a state of a busy subscriber, and to immediately process a receiving call as a busy call, thereby enabling a calling subscriber to recognize that a receiving subscriber is busy. CONSTITUTION: When a receiving call is received(410), an MSC requests subscriber information on a receiving subscriber of a VLR(420). The VLR transmits the subscriber information to the MSC(430). The MSC decides whether the receiving subscriber is busy(440). If so, the MSC decides whether the receiving subscriber is registered in a call forwarding service(460). If so, the MSC transmits a call forwarding number request message to an HLR(480). The HLR transmits a call forwarding number to the MSC through a call forwarding number response message(490).
