Abstract: A front-loading washing machine is provided to increase the friction force on the laundries tumbling in a drum by disposing curved units on the inner wall of the drum, thereby enhancing the washing performance of the machine, and to facilitate draining of the wash water in a spin cycle by connecting drain holes disposed on recessed parts of the curved units with through holes bored on a front unit of the drum, thereby reducing the overall washing time. A front-loading washing machine has a drum having a cylindrical body(20). A front unit(30) is assembled to the front of the body. Through holes(33), which allow the wash water flow into or out of the drum, are disposed on an outer circumference of the front unit. Curved units(50), which are disposed on an inner wall of the drum, include protrusions(53) and recesses(54). Drain holes(55) are disposed on the recesses and connected to the drain holes. The curved units are disposed in axial direction of the drum, or are spirally disposed the inner surface of the drum.
