PURPOSE: A fountain code based video streaming system and a method thereof are provided to supply a seamless video streaming service by using a fountain code. CONSTITUTION: Fountain encoders(400,420) of transmitting devices(40,42) perform fountain encoding of source symbols. A fountain decoder(440) decodes a source symbols by fountain decoding of the fountain-encoded symbol. A pier selector(4440) of a controller(444) selects the peers with reference to a bandwidth of peers. A symbol size determinator(4442) determines the size of a symbol in consideration of a buffer state. The symbol size determinate changes the size of a symbol by recognition of data size of a video decoding buffer(442). PURPOSE: A method for transmitting data over a mobile ad hoc network and a recorded medium for performing the method for transmitting data over the mobile ad hoc network are provided to secure the service quality of data sensitive to delay by maximally satisfying an inter-end transmission delay time. CONSTITUTION: If an intermediate node is placed at a first hop, the intermediate node determines the priority of a received packet based on inter-end whole hop number and allowable maximum delay(340,350). If the intermediate node is placed at a kth hop, the intermediate node determines a packet priority for a various hope as well as a packet priority based on a packet urgent level in a current(360). If the priorities of both a newly received packet and cue-standby packets are determined, the intermediate node transmits the packet according to the higher priority(380).

An IPTV service providing server and a method thereof are provided to reflect user's preference for channels when deciding the type of each channel and the number of additional intra-frames which will be inserted into video data to be transmitted. An IPTV service providing method comprises the following steps of: determining the type of each channel to be provided to a user and the number of additional intra-frames to be inserted into video data which is provided through the channels(100); inserting the additional intra-frames into the video data, and then encoding the video data(110); and transmitting the video data to a corresponding router according to the determined channel type(120).

A CATV(Cable Television) network system having an IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) service providing function and a method thereof are provided to supply the IPTV service without channel change delay in consideration of a DOCSIS protocol as an MAC protocol of a CATV network, thereby supporting smooth channel change of a user and efficiently using an uplink band. A cable modem termination system(61) receives all channel data from a broadcasting server, and integrates a bandwidth of a broadcasting service with a bandwidth of a communication service. The cable modem termination system provides channel data, requested from a cable modem(62), without channel change delay based on a hierarchy structure of a DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications) protocol extension stack as an MAC(Media Access Control) protocol of a CATV network. The plural cable modems request the specific channel data to the cable modem termination system, and receives the channel data.
