    Abstract: 본 발명은 모바일 IPTV 서비스 제공 방법 및 이를 위한 시스템이 개시된다. 동일한 채널 그룹에 소속된 채널의 스트림을 수신중인 단말에서 수행되는 모바일 IPTV 서비스 제공 방법은, 현재 서비스 제공 중인 채널과 상기 선택된 채널이 동일한 채널 그룹에 속하는지 판단하는 단계 및 상기 판단 결과 동일한 채널 그룹에 속하는 경우, 상기 단말이 수신중인 채널의 스트림에서 상기 선택된 채널의 IPTV 채널 스트림을 디코딩하는 단계를 포함하여 구성될 수 있다. 따라서, 동일한 채널 그룹내의 다른 채널로 채널을 변경할 시 평균 처리 복잡도를 최소화하고 사용자의 빠른 채널 변경을 보장할 수 있다.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for providing a mobile internet protocol television service and a system thereof are provided to minimize average processing complexity when a user changes a channel to other channels in the same channel group by using a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A base station executes channel grouping corresponding to channel preference of a user(S501). The base station distinguishes a channel group with a channel requested in a mobile terminal. The base station broadcasts a multicast stream to the mobile terminal(S503).
